Using Inline Forms & Surveys in Email Campaigns

Inline Forms and Surveys allow you to collect feedback directly inside email campaigns using interactive elements like NPS, star ratings, and like/dislike without sending contacts to an external page.

Use this feature if you want to:

  • Collect feedback directly inside an email

  • Increase response rates with one-click interactions

  • Track responses at the contact level

  • Analyze form and survey results inside campaign statistics

  • Optionally redirect users after submission

What Are Inline Forms & Surveys in Email Campaigns

Inline Forms and Surveys are interactive elements embedded directly into the Email Builder.

They allow contacts to submit feedback inside the email itself.

Supported use cases include:

  • NPS surveys (1–10 scoring)

  • Star ratings (5-star)

  • Like / Dislike questions

  • Click-based form interactions

All responses are automatically tracked and linked to the contact record.

Available inline feedback types include:

  • NPS (1–10 Score)

  • 5-Star Rating

  • Like / Dislike

  • Click-based Forms

Each form type is selectable from the Form Element settings panel.

How to Add a Form or Survey to an Email Campaign

Step 1: Open the Email Builder

Navigate to Email Campaigns and create or edit an email.

The Email Builder canvas will load.

Step 2: Insert the Form Element

From the left sidebar:

  1. Locate Forms

  2. Drag and drop it into the email layout

Step 3: Select the Form or Survey Type

Once the Form Element is placed:

  • Open the Form Type panel

  • Choose the desired feedback type (NPS, Star Rating, Like/Dislike, or Form)

Customizing the Form Element

Design & Layout Options

You can customize:

  • Background color

  • Icon style (where applicable)

  • Padding and spacing

  • Alignment inside the email

These settings affect only the selected Form Element.

Set a Form Title (Required)

Each Form Element must have a unique title.

The title is used to:

  • Identify the form in campaign statistics

  • Group responses correctly

  • Display data in analytics and exports

Configure a Success Page URL (Optional)

By default, submissions are tracked immediately with no redirect.

You can optionally:

  • Enable Custom Success Page URL

  • Redirect users after submission

This does not affect tracking.

Viewing Form & Survey Results

Access Campaign Statistics

After the campaign is sent:

  1. Open the campaign

  2. Click Statistics

  3. Navigate to the Submissions tab

Review Submission Breakdown

The Submissions tab shows:

  • Total responses per form

  • Breakdown by score or selection

  • Percentage distribution

  • Contact-level response data

  • Export option for reporting

Data Tracking & Analytics Behavior

  • Responses are tracked instantly on click

  • Each response is linked to the contact record

  • Data is available in campaign-level analytics

  • Multiple forms in one email are tracked separately

  • Exports include score-level and contact-level data

Common Issues and Fixes

Form responses are not visible

  • Confirm the campaign was sent

  • Open Statistics > Submissions

  • Ensure the Form Element has a title

Redirect is not working

  • Verify Custom Success Page URL is enabled

  • Confirm the URL starts with https://

  • Test the link manually in a browser

Data is grouped incorrectly

  • Ensure each Form Element has a unique title

  • Avoid duplicating titles across multiple forms

FAQ

Do I need a custom success URL for responses to be tracked?

No. All form and survey responses are tracked immediately when a contact clicks inside the email. A custom success URL is optional and only controls post-click redirection.

Where can I see survey results?

Results are available in Campaign Statistics > Submissions.
Each form shows a detailed breakdown by score and contact.

Can I change the form type after sending the campaign?

No. Once an email campaign is sent, the Form Element is locked.
Changes require a new campaign or template.

Can I see which contact submitted a low rating?

Yes. Each submission is linked to the individual contact record.

Can inline forms be used in SMS campaigns?

No. Inline Forms and Surveys are designed for Email Campaigns only.
For SMS, use links to hosted forms or keyword-based replies.
