Who This Is For / When to Use
Use this setup if you want website or funnel visitors to contact you via WhatsApp using an approved WhatsApp number.
Prerequisites
WhatsApp must be enabled for your account.
At least one WhatsApp number must be configured.
If WhatsApp is not enabled, go to Settings > WhatsApp and complete number setup before continuing.
How the WhatsApp Chat Widget Works
The chat widget is embedded on a website or funnel.
Visitors open the widget and submit their name, phone number, and message.
After submission, the visitor is redirected to WhatsApp (mobile app or WhatsApp Web).
The message is pre-filled and sent to the selected WhatsApp number.
The conversation appears in Conversations, where your team can reply.
Step 1: Open Chat Widget Settings
Go to Sites in the left navigation.
Select Chat Widgets.
Click New or open an existing widget.
Step 2: Select WhatsApp as the Chat Type
In the Chat Type selection screen, choose WhatsApp.
This option creates a WhatsApp-integrated widget that redirects visitors to WhatsApp after form submission.
Step 3: Customize the Chat Widget Window
Open the Chat Window tab.
Customize the following as needed:
Title and intro text
Form fields (name, phone, message)
Branding and colors
Notes:
WhatsApp widgets default to WhatsApp-style green colors.
You can override colors to match your branding.
Step 4: Select the WhatsApp Number
Scroll to WhatsApp Settings.
Open Select WhatsApp Number.
Choose the WhatsApp number visitors will be redirected to.
If the number is not listed, add one under Settings > WhatsApp.
Step 5: Save and Publish
Click Save.
Embed the widget using one of the following:
Website or Funnel settings toggle
Embed code placed in the page header
The widget becomes visible when the page loads.
Common Issues and Fixes
WhatsApp option is not selectable
Ensure WhatsApp is enabled under Settings > WhatsApp.
Confirm at least one WhatsApp number exists.
Visitors are not redirected to WhatsApp
Verify a WhatsApp number is selected in widget settings.
Confirm the widget is saved and republished.
Messages do not appear in Conversations
The conversation appears only after the visitor completes WhatsApp redirection.
Ensure team members have access to Conversations.
