Updated over 3 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this article when setting up A2P registration for the first time or when a brand registration fails due to business information errors.

Before You Begin

You must have:

  • A valid EIN (U.S.) or supported Tax ID

  • IRS Form CP 575 available

  • A real, physical business address

Do not use a DUNS number.

Step 1: Open the Trust Center

Navigate to Settings > Phone Numbers > Trust Center, then start A2P registration.

Step 2: Determine Profile Needs

Answer the qualification questions:

  • Is the business located in the U.S. or Canada?

  • Does the business have a Tax ID?

Your answers determine which brand types are available.

Step 3: Enter Business Details

Enter all fields exactly as shown on official tax documents:

  • Legal Business Name

  • Business Type

  • Business Registration ID Type (EIN)

  • Business Registration Number

  • Business Industry

  • Business Email

  • Website URL

  • Region of Operations

Critical: Every line above the address on IRS Form CP 575 must be entered as the Legal Business Name.

Step 4: Enter Business Address

Enter the address exactly as listed on the CP 575:

  • Country

  • State/Province

  • Street Address

  • City

  • Postal/Zip Code

The address must be a valid business location.

Step 5: Add Authorized Representative

Add a point of contact who can verify business details:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Job position

Limits apply:

  • One email address can be used for up to 5 brands.

  • One phone number can be used for up to 5 brands.

Common Issues and Fixes

Business Profile Rejected

  • Legal Business Name does not exactly match CP 575.

  • Address differs from tax records.
