Who This Is For / When to Use
This article is for users who manage recurring calendar bookings, custom recurring schedules, and automated customer appointment notifications in Kyrios.
What Changed
Kyrios has updated calendar notifications to handle default and custom recurrence patterns consistently:
Single Confirmation for Booking Series: Default recurring appointments send one confirmation or unconfirmed notification per booking that covers the full series, instead of sending individual confirmations for every occurrence.
Full Coverage for Custom Recurrences: Custom recurring appointments created in-app now automatically trigger confirmation or unconfirmed notifications once per series.
Occurrence Reminders and Follow-Ups: Reminders and follow-up notifications continue to schedule individually for every occurrence and now apply to custom recurring appointments.
Custom Recurrence Reschedule and Cancellation Controls: Rescheduling or canceling custom recurring appointments triggers notifications based on the option selected during the change:
This appointment: Sends a notification for the single selected instance.
All appointments: Sends a single notification for the entire series.
This and following: Sends a single notification for reschedule actions.
Recurrence Pattern Details: Notifications for custom recurrences display the recurrence pattern alongside the specific date and time.
Who Is Affected
These updates apply automatically across all accounts:
Newly Booked Appointments: Applies to any newly scheduled recurring appointment.
Edited Appointments: Applies when existing recurring appointments are modified or updated.
Calendar Notifications Only: Applies strictly to system calendar notifications. Automated Workflows are not affected by this update.
What You Need to Do
No manual setup is required to enable these changes. To display recurrence patterns inside custom recurring notifications, confirm that your notification template includes the appointment date and time custom value:
Go to Calendars.
Select your calendar settings and open Notification Templates.
Verify that the Date and Time custom value is present in your email or SMS template body.

Common Issues and Fixes
Custom recurrence details are not showing in confirmation emails
Cause: The notification template is missing the required appointment date and time custom value.
Fix: Open calendar notification settings and add the appointment date and time custom value tag into the template text.
Workflows are not sending single series confirmations
Cause: This enhancement applies strictly to native calendar notifications and does not modify Workflow trigger logic.
Fix: Adjust your Workflow triggers and wait steps if you require custom series consolidation logic within automated Workflows.
