What are Advanced Filters in Site Analytics?

Advanced Filters let you refine Site Analytics results across Funnels, Websites, and Webinars by applying one or more conditions to your analytics data.

What Advanced Filters Do

Advanced Filters let you build targeted analytics views by combining filter conditions.

You can:

  • Add one or more filters

  • Include or exclude selected values

  • Combine filters with AND or OR

  • Add nested filters for grouped logic

  • Apply filters without exporting analytics data

Supported Asset Types

Advanced Filters are available for:

  • Funnels

  • Websites

  • Webinars

Where to Access Advanced Filters

  1. Click Sites in the left navigation menu.

  2. Click Analytics in the top navigation bar.

  3. Select a supported asset type, such as Funnels, Websites, or Webinars.

  4. Click Advanced filter.

Use the asset type dropdown before opening Advanced Filters so the dashboard shows the correct analytics data.

Add Your First Filter

Click Add filter to start building an advanced filter.

A filter needs a field, condition, and value before it can be applied.

Configure a Filter Condition

Choose the filter field, select the condition, and choose one or more values.

Example:

  • Field: City

  • Condition: Is not

  • Values: Las Vegas, Dallas

This example excludes traffic from Las Vegas and Dallas.

Add Another Filter

Click Add filter to add another condition to the filter setup.

Use additional filters when you need to analyze more specific traffic groups.

Add a Nested Filter

Click Add nested filter to create a grouped condition inside the current filter logic.

Nested filters are useful when related conditions should be evaluated together before they are combined with the rest of the filter setup.

Use AND and OR Logic

Use AND when all selected conditions must be true. Use OR when any selected condition can be true.

Choose the logic carefully because it changes which analytics records are included in the results.

Apply the Filters

Click Apply to update the analytics dashboard with the selected filters.

The dashboard refreshes using the selected asset type, date range, and advanced filter rules.

Common Issues and Fixes

The results are narrower than expected

Check whether the filters are connected with AND. AND logic requires all conditions to match.

The results are broader than expected

Check whether the filters are connected with OR. OR logic includes records that match any connected condition.

My filters disappeared after leaving the page

Advanced Filters do not persist after a page refresh or after leaving Site Analytics. Recreate the filters when returning to the dashboard.

FAQ

Do basic filters still apply when Advanced Filters are applied?

What is the difference between Add Filter and Add Nested Filter?

Add Filter adds another condition at the current level. Add Nested Filter adds grouped conditions inside the current filter logic.

Do Advanced Filters stay saved after I refresh the page?

No. Advanced Filters do not persist after a page refresh or after leaving Site Analytics.
