Coupon Targeting by Product, Price, and Variant

Coupon targeting lets you control whether a coupon applies to an entire product, selected prices, or selected variants.

What Coupon Targeting Does

Coupon targeting controls where a coupon can be used.

A coupon can apply to:

  • An entire product

  • All prices or variants under a product

  • Only selected prices

  • Only selected variants

If a customer selects a price or variant that is not included in the coupon configuration, the coupon will not apply.

How to Open Coupons

Go to Payments, then click Coupons.

How to Create a Coupon

Click Create Coupon from the Coupons page.

Enter the coupon details, including:

  • Coupon name

  • Coupon code

  • Coupon type

  • Start date and time

  • End date and time, if needed

How to Limit a Coupon to Products, Prices, or Variants

In Coupon usage rules & restrictions, enable Limit to selected products on which the coupon can be applied.

Then search or browse for the product, price, or variant the coupon should apply to.

Selecting the full product includes all current and future prices or variants under that product.

Selecting a specific price or variant limits the coupon to that exact option.

Checkout Behavior

Coupon targeting is enforced at checkout.

Supported checkout surfaces include:

  • Funnels

  • Forms

  • Stores

  • Payment Links

  • Calendars

If a coupon is configured for one variant, it will not apply to another variant under the same product unless that variant is also selected in the coupon setup.

Workflow Trigger Support

Coupon workflow triggers can use product-based filters and, when available, price or variant filters.

Supported coupon triggers include:

  • Coupon Code Applied

  • Coupon Redemption Limit Reached

  • Coupon Code Expired

  • Coupon Code Redeemed

Select the product first. Kyrios then shows the related price or variant filter options.

Common Issues and Fixes

The coupon does not apply at checkout

Confirm that the selected checkout item matches the coupon’s product, price, or variant configuration.

Price or variant filters do not appear in workflows

Select a product first. Price and variant filters are dependent filters.

The coupon applies to more options than expected

Check whether the full product was selected. Full product selection includes all current and future prices or variants.

Existing subscriptions are not using the new logic

Existing subscriptions and past transactions keep their original coupon behavior.
