What Is a Coupon?
A coupon is an offer created by a business that provides a discount on a purchase when a valid coupon code is applied during checkout.
What Types of Coupons Are Supported?
Kyrios supports two coupon types:
Percentage Coupon
Applies a percentage-based discount to the order value (for example, 20% off).Fixed Coupon
Applies a fixed discount amount regardless of order value (for example, $10 off).
Part 1: Getting Started
Step 1: Locating Coupons
Important Requirement
Coupons only work if coupon codes are enabled on the order form element within your funnel or website under Sites.
Coupon Creation Rules (Please Note)
Coupon codes are not case-sensitive and are automatically converted to uppercase.
Spaces and special characters are not supported in coupon codes.
Customers can redeem a 100% OFF coupon and still must enter card details.
Card details are collected to support upsells or next-step purchases.
Stripe is required for $0 checkouts.
PayPal does not support 100% off orders.
If both Stripe and PayPal exist, PayPal is hidden.
During $0 checkout, the message “Card details will be used for verification purposes” appears next to the card field.
Part 2: Setting Up Your Coupon
After selecting Create Coupon, configure the following settings.
Coupon Name
Internal-only reference.
Used for organizing and identifying coupons.
Does not need to be unique, but unique names are recommended.
Coupon Code
The code customers enter at checkout.
Can be generated automatically or entered manually (for example,
BOGO50).Must be alphanumeric only.
Not case-sensitive.
The Generate option creates a 7-character alphanumeric code.
Coupon Type
Percentage-based (example: 50% off)
Fixed amount (example: $50 off)
Start Date and Start Time
Defines when the coupon becomes active.
Start Date is required so Kyrios knows when the coupon can be used.
End Date and End Time
Defines when the coupon expires.
Prevents usage after the specified date and time.
Useful for limited-time promotions.
Redemption Limit
Limits how many successful redemptions are allowed.
Example: First 100 purchases only.
Counts completed checkouts, not attempted uses.
Limit to Selected Products
Restricts coupon usage to specific products.
When disabled, the coupon applies to all eligible one-time products on the order form.
Apply to Future / Recurring Payments
When enabled, the discount applies to recurring subscription payments.
When disabled, the discount applies only to the first payment.
Subscription Coupons
Coupons can be used for subscription-based products to:
Encourage new subscriptions
Upsell existing customers
Increase retention with recurring discounts
Supported discount types:
Percentage discounts
Fixed amount discounts
Free access for a limited period
Limit the Number of Months a Coupon Is Applied to a Subscription
Defines how long a coupon applies to a subscription.
Applies based on duration, not billing frequency.

Behavior Notes

Existing coupons retain prior behavior:
Checked = applies forever
Unchecked = applies once
Discount Coupons on Subscriptions: Benefits

Increase revenue through upsells
Support flexible promotional strategies
Improve checkout conversion rates
How to Use Subscription Coupons
Generate a coupon code.
Promote it through marketing channels.
Instruct customers to apply it at checkout.
Use Cases
Use Case 1: Limited-Time Product Launch Promotion
A business launches a new product and offers 20% off to the first 100 customers within the first month.
A percentage-based coupon with a redemption limit and expiration date creates urgency and drives early adoption.
Use Case 2: Rewarding Loyalty With Subscription Discounts
A business offers $10 off all recurring payments for customers subscribed longer than six months.
Applying the coupon to future recurring payments increases retention and reduces churn.
Pro Tip
Limiting coupons to specific products is recommended unless you intentionally want the discount to apply across all one-time products on the order form.
