  • Keep Social Planner aligned with your live Instagram activity

What Instagram Post Sync Does

Instagram Post Sync automatically imports your recent Instagram content into Social Planner.

Supported content types:

  • Images

  • Videos

  • Carousels

  • Reels

Key behaviors:

  • Syncs posts from the last 30 days

  • Imports posts as Native Posts inside the planner

  • Keeps engagement metrics updated every 24 hours

How to Enable Instagram Post Sync

Follow these steps to turn on syncing for an Instagram account:

  1. Go to Marketing → Social Planner → Settings

  2. Click Connect Social

  3. Connect your Instagram account (Professional account required)

  4. Enable Sync Posts Automatically

How to Enable Sync for Specific Accounts

You can control sync at the individual account level.

  1. Go to Social Planner → Settings → Social Accounts

  2. Locate your Instagram account

  3. Toggle Sync Posts ON

Result:

  • Posts begin syncing automatically in the background

  • Synced posts appear in the planner and analytics

Where Synced Posts Appear

Synced Instagram posts appear in:

  • Social Planner (Calendar/List View)

  • Post History

  • Analytics & Reporting

How they are labeled:

  • Type: Native Post

  • Status: Published

What Data Gets Synced

Each synced post includes:

  • Media (image, video, carousel, reel)

  • Caption

  • Publish date

  • Engagement metrics:

    • Likes

    • Comments

Insights refresh frequency:

  • Every 24 hours (not real-time)

Common Issues and Fixes

Posts are not syncing

  • Ensure Sync Posts is enabled for the account

  • Confirm the Instagram account is Connected (not expired)

  • Reconnect the account if needed

Account shows “Expired”

  • Click Reconnect in Social Accounts

  • Re-authenticate Instagram

Missing engagement data

  • Wait up to 24 hours for insights to refresh

  • Confirm the post is within the last 30 days

Some post details are missing

Due to Instagram API limitations, the following may not sync:

  • Location tags

  • Collaborators

  • Mentions

  • Only posts from the last 30 days are synced automatically

  • Insights update every 24 hours

  • Deleted Instagram posts may still appear in Social Planner

  • Requires an Instagram Professional account
