Want to avoid downloading and re-uploading files manually.

What the Canva Integration Allows
After connecting Canva, users can:
Browse Canva designs directly in Media Storage
Open designs in Canva for editing
Download Canva files
Import designs into My Media
This removes the need to switch tabs or manually transfer files between Canva and Media Storage.
Connect Canva to Media Storage
You can connect Canva from either Media Storage or the App Marketplace.
Option 1: Connect from Media Storage
Navigate to Media Storage.
Open the Canva tab.
Click Connect.
Complete the Canva OAuth authorization.
Once connected, your Canva designs will appear inside Media Storage.
Option 2: Install from the App Marketplace
Navigate to App Marketplace.
Search for Canva.
Click Install.
Complete the OAuth connection.
After installation, Canva becomes available inside Media Storage.
Browse and Manage Canva Files in Media Storage
Once connected, Canva designs appear inside the Media Storage interface.
From the file menu you can:
Select the file
Preview the file
Download the file
Move the file to folders
Rename the file
Edit the file in Canva
Move the file to trash
Edit a Design from Media Storage
Users can open Canva designs directly from Media Storage.
Edit from the Canva Tab
Open Media Storage → Canva.
Click the three-dot menu on a file.
Select Edit in Canva.
Make your design changes in Canva.
Import the updated version back into Media Storage.
Edit from My Media
Editing from My Media is supported for:
PNG
JPG
JPEG
Steps:
Open Media Storage → My Media.
Click the three-dot menu on a supported file.
Select Edit in Canva.
Make changes in Canva.
Import the updated version.
Permissions and Access
The Canva integration uses shared access rules within an account.
Installer
Full edit access to Canva-connected files
Can modify and update designs
Other Users
Can browse Canva assets
Can search and download files
Can import designs into Media Storage
Proxy (“Login As”) Users
Cannot access the Canva integration.
Important Behavior
One Canva Account Per Account
Only one Canva account can be connected to Media Storage per account installation.
All users in the account can access the connected assets.
Import Required Before Use
Canva designs must be imported into My Media before they can be used in:
Emails
Funnels
Pages
Other builders
Private Canva Files
Private Canva files cannot be edited through the integration.
Only accessible files from the connected Canva account will appear.
Smart Design Tracking
The system prevents duplicate Canva files when editing designs imported into My Media.
When a file is edited in Canva and re-imported, the system tracks the design and updates the existing asset instead of creating duplicate copies.
Disconnecting Canva
To remove the Canva connection:
Navigate to App Marketplace.
Open the Canva app.
Click Uninstall.
Previously imported files remain in Media Storage even after the integration is removed.
Common Issues and Fixes
Cannot Edit Canva File
Cause:
The user does not have edit permission.
Fix:
Import the file into your own Media Storage or request access from the installer.
Canva Designs Do Not Appear
Cause:
The Canva connection has not been completed.
Fix:
Reconnect Canva through Media Storage → Canva → Connect.
Complete the OAuth authorization.
FAQ
Can multiple Canva accounts be connected?
No. Only one Canva account can be connected per account.
Can other users access the connected Canva assets?
Yes. All users within the account can view, search, and download Canva assets.
Can proxy users access Canva?
No. Users logged in through proxy (“Login As”) cannot access the Canva integration.
Do Canva files automatically appear in Media Storage?
Yes. Once Canva is connected, available designs from the connected account appear inside Media Storage.
Do I need to import a Canva design before using it?
Yes. A design must be imported into My Media before it can be used in builders such as emails or funnels.
