What Template-Level Analytics Shows

Template-Level Analytics provides metrics at the individual template level, not aggregate account data.

Available insights include:

  • Messages sent

  • Messages delivered

  • Messages read

  • Button clicks (URL and quick reply buttons)

Each metric is tied to a specific template and date range.


How to Access WhatsApp Template Analytics

Step 1: Open WhatsApp Templates

  1. Go to Settings in your account.

  2. Select WhatsApp.

  3. Open the Templates tab.


Step 2: Find the Template You Want to Analyze

  1. Use the Search by name field to locate a template.

  2. Identify the template you want to review.


Step 3: Open Template Reports

  1. In the template row, click Reports.

  2. This opens the analytics view for that specific template.


Viewing Deliverability Metrics

Step 4: Review Deliverability Performance

  1. In the Performance section, select Deliverability.

  2. Review the following metrics:

    • Message Sent

    • Message Delivered

    • Message Read

  3. Use the legend to distinguish sent, delivered, and read trends on the chart.

Tick meanings:

  • One tick: Message sent

  • Two ticks: Message delivered to device

  • Blue ticks: Message read by recipient


Step 5: Adjust the Date Range (Optional)

  1. Click the date selector in the top-right corner.

  2. Choose a start and end date.

  3. Confirm to update the analytics view.

Step 6: Open Button Click Reports

  1. From the same template report, select Button Clicks.

  2. Review engagement by button label and type.

  3. Toggle between Table and Graph views as needed.

Button click analytics show:

  • Button label

  • Button type (Website Click or Quick Reply)

  • Total clicks per button

Supported button types:

  • URL buttons: Open an external link (up to 2 per template)

  • Quick reply buttons: Send a predefined text response (up to 10 per template)


Limitations and Notes

  • Button click analytics are available only for MARKETING and UTILITY templates.

  • Button click tracking is not supported for WhatsApp Business Accounts in:

    • European Union

    • United Kingdom

    • Japan

  • Metrics reflect WhatsApp delivery and engagement data as provided by Meta.
