What “Native” Means

  • Voice notes appear as standard WhatsApp audio messages.

  • Recipients can tap play instantly inside WhatsApp.

  • No file download or attachment handling is required.

Transcription Behavior

  • Transcription is controlled by the recipient’s WhatsApp and device settings.

  • If enabled on the recipient’s device, a Transcribe option appears under the voice note.

  • Kyrios does not generate or store the transcription text.


How to Send a WhatsApp Voice Note in Kyrios

Step 1: Open the Conversation

Navigate to Conversations and open a WhatsApp conversation with the contact.

Step 2: Record and Send the Voice Note

  1. Click the microphone icon in the WhatsApp message composer.

  2. Record your message.

  3. Send the message.

Kyrios automatically formats the audio as a native WhatsApp voice note (OGG).

NOTE: No additional settings are required.


What the Recipient Sees

Native Playback Experience

  • The message appears as a standard WhatsApp audio bar.

  • The recipient taps Play to listen immediately.

Optional Transcription

  • If the recipient has voice message transcription enabled in WhatsApp:

    • A Transcribe option appears.

    • Transcription is generated by WhatsApp, not Kyrios.


Technical Details

Audio Format

  • Outbound voice notes are sent in OGG format.

  • This format is required for WhatsApp to recognize the message as a native voice note.

Message Storage

  • The audio file is visible in the Kyrios conversation history.

  • Transcription text (if generated) is not returned to or stored in Kyrios.


Common Issues and Fixes

Voice Note Sends as an Attachment

  • Cause: Message was not recorded using the microphone option.

  • Fix: Use the WhatsApp microphone inside the conversation composer.

Recipient Cannot See “Transcribe”

  • Cause: Transcription is disabled on the recipient’s device or WhatsApp version.

  • Fix: Recipient must enable voice message transcription in their app settings and update their device OS if needed.
