Add-ons allow customers to enhance a service booking with optional extras that can increase price, duration, or both.

This article is for account owners and administrators who want to upsell services, manage optional extras, or add internal-only adjustments to service bookings.


What Add-ons Are

Add-ons are optional extras that can be attached to a service.

Add-ons can:

  • Increase the total booking price

  • Add time to the appointment

  • Be limited by quantity

  • Be visible to customers or hidden for internal use

Add-ons only appear on services they are explicitly assigned to.


Common Add-on Use Cases

Typical add-on examples include:

  • Wellness: Aromatherapy, hot stone upgrades

  • Fitness: Nutrition consults, body analysis

  • Creative Services: Extra deliverables, expedited delivery

Add-ons help personalize bookings while increasing revenue per appointment.


How to Create an Add-on

Use the steps below to create a new add-on.


Step 1: Open the Add-ons List

  1. Go to Calendar

  2. Open Calendar Settings

  3. Select Services

  4. Click the Add-ons tab

  5. Click + New Add-on


Step 2: Configure Add-on Details

Fill in the following fields:

  • Image: Optional visual shown on the booking page

  • Name: Clear, customer-friendly title

  • Price: Base cost of the add-on

  • Duration: Enable if the add-on adds time

  • Maximum Quantity: Limit how many can be selected

  • Multiple Price with Quantity: Multiply price by quantity

  • Description: Short explanation of the add-on

  • Hide from Booking Page: Enable for internal-only add-ons

Click Create Add-on to save.


How to Assign Add-ons to a Service

Creating an add-on does not automatically assign it to services.


Step 3: Open Service Settings

  1. Go to Calendar > Calendar Settings > Services

  2. Find the service

  3. Click the three dots (โ‹ฎ)

  4. Select Edit


Step 4: Attach Add-ons to the Service

  1. Open the Add-ons section in the service editor

  2. Click + Add-ons

  3. Select one or more add-ons

  4. Click Save Changes

Only assigned add-ons appear during booking.


How Add-ons Appear During Booking

During checkout:

  • Customers see add-ons as optional selections

  • Prices update automatically

  • Appointment duration updates if enabled

  • Quantity-based pricing calculates totals correctly

Add-ons do not appear on unrelated services.


Manage Existing Add-ons

You can edit or remove add-ons at any time.


Step 5: Edit or Delete an Add-on

  1. Go to Calendar > Calendar Settings > Services

  2. Open the Add-ons tab

  3. Use:

    • Edit (pencil icon) to update details

    • Delete (trash icon) to remove permanently

  4. Click Save Changes

Deleting an add-on removes it from all services.


Internal-Only Add-ons

Hidden add-ons are useful for:

  • Internal prep time

  • Equipment usage

  • Manual price adjustments

Enable Hide from Booking Page to prevent customer visibility.


Pro Tips for Add-ons

  • Use high-quality images to increase conversion

  • Include cleanup or buffer time using duration

  • Limit quantities to avoid overbooking

  • Use internal add-ons for staff-only adjustments


FAQ

Can one add-on be assigned to multiple services?

Yes. Add-ons can be linked to as many services as needed.

Does an add-on always increase appointment duration?

No. Duration only increases if the Duration option is enabled.

Can I limit how many times a customer selects an add-on?

Yes. Use the Maximum Quantity setting.

What happens if I delete an add-on?

It is removed from all services and no longer available for future bookings.

Can staff apply add-ons that customers cannot see?

Yes. Enable Hide from Booking Page for internal-only add-ons.

Where can I see all add-ons in one place?

Navigate to Calendar > Calendar Settings > Services > Add-ons.
