Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for users who create or manage documents and contracts in Kyrios and need to add fillable fields for signatures, dates, or custom text values before sending documents for signing.

What Are Floating Text Fields

Floating text fields are movable, resizable fields that sit on top of a document or PDF. They allow recipients to enter information or sign digitally, making documents interactive and legally usable.

Floating text fields support:

  • Text input

  • Date selection

  • Signatures

  • Required field validation

  • Assignment to specific contacts

How to Use Floating Text Fields

Navigate to Documents and Contracts

  1. Open the left-hand menu.

  2. Select Payments.

  3. Click Documents and Contracts.

Select or Upload Your Template

  1. Click Templates at the top of the page.

  2. Upload a PDF template or create a new document.

For this example, an uploaded PDF is used.

Adding Fillable Fields

  1. Click the plus (+) button in the top-left corner.

Each field will appear as a floating element on the document.

  2. Place:

    • Date fields where dates are required

You can fine-tune field placement using multiple methods:

Adding Custom Values and Assigning Signatures

  1. Hover over a field to open the field options menu.

  2. From the menu, you can:

    • Copy the field

    • Delete the field

    • Add a custom value

    • Mark the field as required

Examples:

  • Add a text field labeled Company Name and mark it as required.

  • Customize date fields by selecting:

    • Date format (year, month, day)

    • Allowed dates (any date, past only, or future only)

You can also assign each signature field to a specific contact who must sign the document.

Assigning Multiple Signatures

Documents can include multiple signature fields.

  • Assign each signature to a different contact if needed.

This ensures all required parties sign the document correctly.
