Partial fulfillment allows you to ship and track specific items within an order separately, each with its own tracking details and customer notifications.

This article is for Kyrios store owners who:

  • Ship items from a single order at different times

  • Manage backorders or split inventory availability

  • Need to provide separate tracking details per item

  • Want customers notified as items ship instead of waiting for full order fulfillment

What Is Partial Fulfillment

Partial fulfillment lets you fulfill only part of an order instead of all items at once.

Each partial fulfillment can include:

  • Selected items and quantities

  • A unique tracking number

  • A shipping carrier

  • A tracking URL

  • Optional customer email notification

Unfulfilled items remain open until they are fulfilled later.

How to Partially Fulfill an Order

Step 1: Open the Order

  1. Navigate to Payments in the left sidebar.

  2. Select Orders at the top.

  3. Click View Order Details on the order you want to fulfill.

Step 2: Start Fulfillment

  1. Click Fulfill Items within the order details.

Step 3: Select Items and Quantities

  1. In the Fulfill Items section, select:

    • The specific items to fulfill

    • The quantity for each selected item

Only the chosen items will be marked as fulfilled.

Step 4: Add Tracking Details

Enter the shipment details for this fulfillment:

  • Tracking Number

  • Shipping Carrier

  • Tracking URL

Optionally enable Notify Customer by Email to send shipment details automatically.

Step 5: Complete Fulfillment

  1. Confirm the fulfillment.

  2. The selected items are now marked as partially fulfilled.

Remaining items stay unfulfilled until completed later.

Viewing Partial Fulfillment Details

After fulfillment:

  • Go back to Order Details

  • Scroll to the Fulfillment section

You will see for each partial fulfillment:

  • Item name

  • Fulfilled quantity

  • Tracking number

  • Shipping carrier

  • Tracking link

Each fulfillment is displayed separately.

Common Issues and Fixes

Items Do Not Show as Fulfilled

  • Confirm you completed the Fulfill Items step

Customer Did Not Receive Tracking Email

  • Verify Notify Customer by Email was enabled

  • Confirm the order contains a valid customer email address

Incorrect Tracking Information

  • Edit fulfillment details and update the tracking number or carrier

  • Always double-check tracking URLs before saving
