How to Attach Certificates and Badges to Courses in Kyrios

Attach certificates or badges to courses or categories so credentials are automatically issued when members complete required content.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this when you want to:

  • Automatically issue certificates or badges on course completion

  • Attach credentials to an entire course or a specific category

  • Manage which credential is active for a course


Where Credentials Are Attached in a Course

Credentials are attached from inside the course builder.

  1. Go to Memberships > Courses.

  2. Open the course you want to edit.

  3. Click Credentials in the left sidebar.


Attaching a Certificate or Badge to a Course

  1. Inside the course Credentials tab, click Attach Credential.

  2. Choose Certificate or Badge.

  3. Select the credential template.

  4. Click Save.


Course Completion Certificates (Automatic Issuance)

When a certificate is attached at the course level:

  • The credential is automatically issued when all required lessons are completed.

  • The certificate is sent by email to the member.

  • The certificate appears in the member’s Client Portal.


Attaching Certificates to a Category

Certificates can be attached to a category instead of the full course.

  1. Open the course Outline.

  2. Click + Add Content.

  3. Select Add Category.

  4. Attach a credential to the category.


How Category Completion Certificates Work

  • The certificate appears as the final item in the category.

  • Members must complete all lessons in that category.

  • The certificate is automatically issued once requirements are met.


Viewing Attached Credentials in the Course

Attached credentials are visible directly in the course outline.

  • You can preview the credential.

  • You can edit or delete the attachment.


Editing or Replacing an Attached Credential

Only one certificate can be active per completion type.

To replace it:

  1. Remove the existing credential.

  2. Attach a new certificate or badge.


What Members Receive on Completion

When a credential is issued:

  • Members receive an email with a view link.

  • The credential can be downloaded as a high-quality file.

  • Members can share credentials publicly.


Client Portal Access for Issued Certificates

Members can always access credentials later.

  1. Log in to the Client Portal.

  2. Click Manage Your Account.

  3. Open Certificates.


Common Issues and Fixes

  • Certificate not issuing: Ensure all required lessons or categories are completed.

  • Wrong credential attached: Only one certificate can be active; remove old attachments first.

  • Members can’t see certificates: Confirm the credential is published and not in draft.

Can I attach both a badge and a certificate to the same course?

Yes. You can attach one certificate and one badge, depending on completion logic.

Can I change the certificate after members complete the course?

Yes, but new completions will use the updated attachment. Previously issued certificates are not changed.

Can certificates be attached to existing courses?

Yes. You can attach credentials to existing courses at any time.

Do members receive certificates automatically?

Yes. Attached credentials are automatically issued when completion requirements are met.
