Who This Is For / When to Use
This guide is for Facebook Page admins who need to give team members, agencies, or partners access to help manage content, ads, or messages without sharing login credentials.
What You Need Before You Start
You must have Admin (Full Access) permissions on the Facebook Page to add or remove other users. Editors or partial-access users cannot manage Page access.
How to Give Someone Access to a Facebook Page
Step 1: Log in to Facebook
Log in to Facebook using the personal account that already has Admin access to the Page.
Go to Facebook and sign in.
Confirm the account is connected to the correct Facebook Page.
Step 2: Switch to Your Facebook Page Profile
Facebook requires Page access changes to be made while acting as the Page.
Click your profile photo in the top-right corner.
Select the Facebook Page you want to manage from the dropdown list.
Step 3: Open Page Settings
Page access controls are managed from the Page’s Settings area.
While viewing the Page, click the profile image in the top-right corner.
Select Settings & Privacy.
Click Settings to open the Page management panel.
Step 4: Go to Page Access
The Page Access section controls who can manage the Page and what they can do.
In the left-hand navigation menu, select Page Setup.
Click Page Access.
Review the list of people who already have access and their roles.
Step 5: Add a New Person
This step sends an official Facebook invitation to the person you want to add.
Click Add New in the Page Access section.
Enter the person’s name or email address exactly as it appears on Facebook.
Choose the appropriate access level:
Full Access (Admin-level permissions)
Partial Access (limited permissions such as content or ads)
Click Give Access.
Confirm your identity if Facebook prompts for password or two-factor authentication.
Step 6: Wait for the Invitation to Be Accepted
Access is not active until the invitee accepts.
The invited person receives a Facebook notification and/or email.
Once accepted, their name and role appear in the Page Access list.
Facebook Page Access Levels Explained
What Is Full Access?
Full Access allows a user to manage all aspects of the Page, including:
Adding or removing people
Managing settings
Running ads
Publishing content
Responding to messages
Only trusted users should be given Full Access.
What Is Partial Access?
Partial Access limits what a user can do on the Page.
Examples include:
Creating and publishing posts
Responding to comments or messages
Running ads
Viewing analytics
Partial Access is recommended for agencies, contractors, or content creators.
How to Remove Someone’s Access
Access can be revoked at any time by a Page admin.
Go to Settings → Page Setup → Page Access.
Find the person’s name in the list.
Click Remove next to their name.
Confirm the removal when prompted.
The change takes effect immediately.
Common Issues and Fixes
I don’t see the Page Access option
This usually means the account does not have Admin (Full Access) permissions. Ask an existing Admin to upgrade your access.
The invited person didn’t receive the invitation
Ask the invitee to:
Check Facebook notifications (bell icon).
Search their email inbox for the invite.
Confirm they are logged into the correct Facebook account.
Verify the email or name you entered is correct.
I can’t add someone as an Admin
Facebook may restrict Admin access for Pages with recent policy issues or security concerns. Try assigning Partial Access first or review Page quality alerts.
