This article is for Kyrios users who want to automate actions based on link clicks, such as enrolling contacts into workflows, applying tags, or triggering follow-up sequences from emails or SMS messages.
What Trigger Links are
Trigger Links are special tracked links that initiate automation when clicked by a contact.
Trigger Links can be used across multiple channels and are commonly used to:
Add contacts to workflows
Trigger follow-up emails or SMS
Apply tags or segmentation
Track engagement with specific content
Trigger Links work consistently across emails, SMS, campaigns, funnels, and websites.
Step 1: Create a Trigger Link
Trigger Links must be created before they can be used in workflows or messages.
Navigate to Marketing β Trigger Links.
Select the Links tab.
Click Add Link.
Enter a Name for the trigger link.
Enter the destination Link URL.
Click Save.
The trigger link is now available for use across workflows and messages.
Step 2: Create a workflow triggered by a link click
Workflows can start automatically when a specific Trigger Link is clicked.
Go to Automation β Workflows.
Click Create Workflow and select Start from Scratch.
Choose the trigger Trigger Link Clicked.
In Filters, select the Trigger Link to track.
Add the desired workflow actions.
Click Save Trigger.
Publish the workflow.
The workflow will now enroll contacts when the selected Trigger Link is clicked.
Step 3: Insert a Trigger Link into an email or SMS
Trigger Links must be embedded into message content to track clicks.
Open the Email or SMS editor.
Highlight the text where the link should appear.
Click the Link icon.
Select the Trigger Link from the Link List.
Click Save.
The message now contains a tracked Trigger Link.
Using Trigger Links in SMS messages
Trigger Links work in SMS messages and are automatically optimized.
Trigger Link URLs are shortened automatically
Click tracking remains intact
Workflow triggers behave the same as email clicks
No additional setup is required for SMS usage.
Editing an existing Trigger Link
Trigger Links can be updated without breaking existing workflows.
Navigate to Marketing β Trigger Links.
Locate the Trigger Link.
Open the Edit option.
Update the name or URL.
Click Save.
Workflows referencing the Trigger Link remain connected.
Common issues and fixes
The workflow does not trigger when the link is clicked
Ensure the workflow is published and the correct Trigger Link is selected in the trigger filters.
I canβt see my Trigger Link in the editor
Confirm the Trigger Link was saved successfully and that you are selecting from the Trigger Link list, not a standard URL.
Clicks are tracked but no action occurs
Verify that the workflow is active and the trigger filter matches the correct Trigger Link.
