Choose an Email Sender Domain for a Workflow

Kyrios lets you select a verified dedicated sender domain at the workflow level so email actions in that workflow can use a specific sending domain instead of relying on all configured domains.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use the workflow-level Sender domain setting when you want emails from different workflows to use different verified dedicated domains.

For example, you can send appointment reminders from one domain and promotional emails from another domain to keep their sending activity separated. Kyrios supports email communication and workflow automation, including dedicated domain setup for email sending.

Where to Find the Sender Domain Setting

The Sender domain setting is available inside the workflow's communication settings.

  1. Open the workflow.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Find the Communication section.

  4. Under Sender details, locate Sender domain.

The Sender domain dropdown appears only when the account has eligible verified dedicated domains available.

Which Domains Appear in the Dropdown

The Sender domain dropdown includes:

  • All domains

  • Verified dedicated domains available in the account

Only verified dedicated domains are available for selection.

If no dedicated domains are configured and verified for the account, the Sender domain dropdown does not appear.

Use All Domains

Select All domains when you do not want to restrict the workflow to one dedicated domain.

When All domains is selected:

  1. Enter the From name.

  2. Enter only the email prefix in the From email field, such as marketing.

  3. Kyrios uses the account's configured sending domains according to its existing weighted distribution.

For example, enter marketing rather than a complete email address.

The workflow is not locked to one dedicated sender domain when All domains is selected.

Use a Specific Sender Domain

Select a specific verified domain when every applicable email action in the workflow should use that domain by default.

  1. Select the verified domain from Sender domain.

  2. Enter the From name.

  3. Enter the sender email prefix.

For example, if the selected domain is testemail1.groww.download and the email prefix is marketing, the sender address becomes:

Selecting a specific sender domain lets you separate sending activity between workflows.

How Workflow Sender Settings Are Applied

The workflow-level Sender details act as the default sender settings for email actions in that workflow.

Email actions inherit the workflow's:

  • Sender domain

  • From name

  • From email

You can override these defaults inside an individual email action.

Sender details configured directly inside an email action take priority over the workflow-level sender settings.

What Happens if the Sender Email Uses a Different Domain

If you enter a complete sender email address that uses a different domain from the selected Sender domain, the sender email overrides the selected workflow domain.

Kyrios may display a Sender domain mismatch warning when the configured sender email and selected sender domain do not match.

A domain mismatch can affect email deliverability, so the sender email and selected domain should normally match.

Sender Setting Priority

When more than one sender configuration exists, Kyrios applies the more specific configuration.

The priority is:

  1. Email headers configured in dedicated email settings

  2. Sender details configured inside an individual email action

  3. Workflow-level sender details

An individual email action can therefore send with different sender details from the workflow default.

How to Configure a Sender Domain for a Workflow

  1. Add and verify the dedicated sending domain in Email Services > Dedicated Domains.

  2. Open the workflow.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Find Communication > Sender details.

  5. Select All domains or a specific verified domain from Sender domain.

  6. Enter the From name.

  7. Enter the From email or email prefix.

  8. Save the workflow settings.

Email actions in the workflow inherit these sender settings unless an individual email action overrides them.

Example: Separate Transactional and Promotional Email

An account can use separate dedicated domains for different workflow types.

For example:

  • Appointment reminders and payment receipts can send from mail.acmeclinic.com.

  • Promotional nurture emails can send from news.acmeclinic.com.

This keeps each workflow associated with its selected sending domain instead of forcing every workflow to use the same domain configuration.

Common Issues and Fixes

The Sender domain dropdown is missing

The Sender domain dropdown appears only when the account has eligible verified dedicated domains. Verify that a dedicated sending domain has been added and successfully verified under Email Services > Dedicated Domains.

My email action is not using the workflow sender domain

Check the sender details configured directly inside the email action.

Email-action sender settings override the workflow-level sender settings.

I see a Sender domain mismatch warning

The sender email uses a different domain from the domain selected in the workflow settings. Use a sender email that matches the selected sender domain, or review the intended override before sending.

Changing the workflow setting did not change a specific email action

That email action may have its own sender details configured.

Remove or update the email-action override if you want it to inherit the workflow-level sender settings.
