Who This Is For / When to Use
This guide is for Kyrios users setting up a dedicated email sending domain who see verification errors, SSL warnings, or domain conflicts during configuration in Email Services → SMTP Service → Dedicated Domain and IP.
Use this guide when:
A domain cannot be verified
SSL shows as Pending or Unknown
The system reports DNS or server conflicts
A dedicated domain is inactive or auto-scheduled for deletion
What a Dedicated Email Sending Domain Is
A dedicated email sending domain is a custom domain or subdomain used exclusively for sending emails from Kyrios to improve deliverability, sender reputation, and inbox placement.
Dedicated domains isolate email reputation from your primary website domain and allow Kyrios to apply proper authentication (SPF, DKIM, SSL).
How to Access Dedicated Domain Settings
Dedicated domain settings are managed inside the Email Services section of Kyrios.
Steps:
Go to Settings → Email Services
Open SMTP Service
Click Dedicated Domain and IP
Select the Dedicated domain tab
How to Add a New Dedicated Domain
Adding a dedicated domain creates a new sending identity that must be verified via DNS before use.
Steps:
Click + Add Domain
Enter the domain or subdomain (lowercase only)
Click Add & Verify
Copy the DNS records provided
Add records at your DNS host
Return to Kyrios and verify
Why the Error “Domain Already Pointing to Email Server” Appears
This error occurs when the domain or subdomain is already configured with MX or SPF records pointing to another email service.
How to Fix
Check existing DNS records using a DNS lookup tool
Remove conflicting MX or SPF records from the DNS provider
Ensure only Kyrios-provided records remain
Retry verification in Email Services → Dedicated Domain and IP
If the issue persists, the DNS provider must remove legacy email routing.
Why a Dedicated Domain Will Not Verify
A domain fails verification when DNS records are missing, incorrect, or still propagating.
How to Fix
Confirm DNS records exactly match Kyrios values
Wait up to 24 hours for DNS propagation
Click Verify Now to re-check status
Retry verification after propagation completes
What SSL Status Means on a Dedicated Domain
SSL status indicates whether Kyrios has successfully issued a secure certificate for the sending domain.
SSL Issued
The domain is verified and secure. No action is required.
SSL Pending
The domain is verified, but SSL generation is still processing.
Fix:
Wait and re-verify the domain. SSL issuance may take several minutes to a few hours.
SSL Unknown
SSL could not be generated due to incomplete or incorrect DNS records.
Fix:
Click Verify Now
Confirm DNS records again
Re-verify the domain
Contact DNS provider if SSL remains unknown
Why a Dedicated Domain Is Marked Inactive
A domain becomes inactive when it is not fully verified or when required DNS records are missing.
Inactive domains cannot send email and may be auto-deleted if not verified.
How to Prevent Automatic Domain Deletion
Unverified domains are automatically removed after the stated deadline.
How to Fix
Complete DNS verification immediately
Click Verify Now
Ensure SSL status changes to Issued
Once verified, the domain will remain active.
Choosing the Best Subdomain for Email Sending
A subdomain should be dedicated exclusively to email sending to avoid conflicts.
Recommended Examples
mail.yourdomain.comemails.yourdomain.comnotify.yourdomain.com
Avoid using:
Main website domains
Subdomains already used for websites or apps
Dedicated IP vs Shared IP (Important Clarification)
Dedicated domains can use either shared or dedicated IPs.
Shared IP: Default and suitable for most users
Dedicated IP: Recommended for high-volume senders
Dedicated IPs are provisioned separately and do not affect domain verification.
Common Issues and Fixes
Issue: DNS records look correct but verification still fails
Fix:
Wait for DNS propagation (up to 24 hours), then re-verify.
Issue: SPF warning appears
Fix:
Update the SPF record to include Kyrios sending servers.
Issue: SSL does not issue after verification
Fix:
Re-verify the domain. If unresolved, DNS provider assistance is required.
