Who This Is For / When to Use
This article is for Kyrios users who are unable to connect a domain, see DNS or SSL errors, experience 404 or 500 errors, or need to verify DNS records during domain setup.
How to Check DNS Records Using a DNS Lookup Tool
DNS records can be verified using an external DNS lookup tool to confirm that required A or CNAME records are published correctly.
To check DNS records using MXToolbox:
Go to the MXToolbox DNS Lookup tool.
Enter the domain or subdomain being connected (for example,
example.comorsite.example.com).Select DNS Lookup.
Click DNS Lookup to run the check.
Review the results for A, CNAME, MX, TXT, or other required records.
DNS changes may take up to 24–48 hours to fully propagate.
How to Remove a Domain From Kyrios
Domains can be removed directly from Kyrios if they are no longer needed or were added incorrectly.
To remove a domain:
Go to Settings > Domains.
Locate the domain in the list.
Click the three-dot menu next to the domain.
Select Delete.
Removing a domain does not delete the domain registration with the registrar.
What Causes an SSL or Privacy Error
SSL or privacy errors occur when Kyrios cannot properly issue or validate an SSL certificate for the domain.
Common causes include:
Multiple A or CNAME records pointing to different platforms.
No DNS record added for the domain or subdomain.
More than one A record pointing to different IP addresses.
The domain or subdomain being connected to more than one platform.
An AAAA record existing alongside the required A or CNAME record.
Cloudflare proxy enabled when it should be disabled.
Kyrios automatically provisions SSL after the domain is connected successfully.
How to Fix the Error “CNAME / A Record Not Found”
This error appears when Kyrios cannot detect the required DNS record at the domain host.
To fix this issue:
Use a DNS lookup tool to identify the domain’s DNS host (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.).
Log in to the correct DNS provider.
Add the required A or CNAME record exactly as provided by Kyrios.
Save the record and wait a few minutes.
Retry adding the domain in Kyrios.
If the error persists after propagation, delete the record and recreate it.
How to Resolve a 404 Error on a Connected Domain
A 404 error indicates that the domain resolves but does not point to an active page.
If the root domain shows a 404:
Go to Settings > Domains.
Click Edit Domain.
Select a Default Page.
Save the changes.
If the domain has a path (for example, /home) and still shows 404:
Confirm the funnel or website page has the same path.
Remove the domain from the funnel settings, save, re-add it, and save again.
If the error occurs intermittently, ensure redirects between www and non-www are configured correctly.
Why Cloudflare Proxy Causes Errors With Kyrios
Cloudflare proxying interferes with Kyrios SSL and routing when enabled incorrectly.
If Cloudflare proxy is enabled:
SSL errors may appear.
Funnels may not load images.
Domains may fail to connect.
To fix this:
Log in to Cloudflare.
Open the domain.
Go to DNS.
Click Edit on the A or CNAME record.
Set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud).
Click Save.
Only enable proxy when configuring specific redirects using Cloudflare.
How to Fix Funnel Error Code 500 in Cloudflare
A 500 error with the message Failed to execute 'appendChild' on 'Node' is caused by Cloudflare proxy being enabled.
To resolve:
Log in to Cloudflare.
Select the affected domain.
Open the DNS tab.
Edit the A or CNAME record.
Disable proxy (set to DNS only).
Save changes.
The funnel should load normally after this change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the same domain be used on multiple platforms?
No. One domain or subdomain can only point to one platform or server at a time. Use subdomains for multiple platforms.
Do I need to buy SSL separately?
No. SSL certificates are automatically generated by Kyrios after the domain is connected successfully.
Can domains be purchased inside Kyrios?
Yes. Domains can be purchased from Settings > Domains > Purchase a domain.
How many funnels or websites can use one domain?
Multiple funnels or websites can be connected within Kyrios, but the domain or subdomain can only point to Kyrios and not another platform.
