What Changed in the Add Contact Experience
The upgraded Add Contact experience replaces the classic pop-up with a slide-out modal. The slide-out modal allows users to create a contact without leaving the Contacts page. The configured form can include standard contact fields and contact-level custom fields. Available form controls include:
Adding or removing fields.
Reordering fields.
Marking supported fields as required.
Previewing the form before saving.
Protecting unsaved changes when a user attempts to close the modal.
The form configuration applies consistently to users creating contacts in the account.
Benefits of Customizing the Add Contact Form
Customizing the Add Contact form helps teams collect accurate and consistent information when contacts are created manually. Key benefits include:
Faster contact entry: Users remain on the Contacts page while creating a contact.
Cleaner forms: Administrators can remove fields that are not needed during initial contact creation.
More complete records: Important fields can be marked as required.
Custom data collection: Contact-level custom fields can be included in the form.
Consistent intake: Users follow the same contact creation process across the account.
Permissions and Access
Administrator-level users can customize the Add Contact form when their assigned role includes the required permissions. Users with access to the Contacts area can open the configured Add Contact form and create contacts. Regular users cannot change the form layout unless their role includes the required administrative permissions.
Open the Add Contact Modal
To open the Add Contact modal:
Go to Contacts.
Select Smart Lists.
Click + Add Contact.
The Add Contact form opens as a slide-out panel on the right side of the page.
Open the Add Contact Form Customization Page
Administrators can access the form configuration directly from the Add Contact modal. To open the configuration page:
Go to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Click + Add Contact.
Click Customize form near the top of the slide-out modal.
The customization page controls which fields appear when users manually create contacts.
Add, Remove, and Reorder Contact Fields
The Add Contact form can contain standard contact fields and contact-level custom fields. To manage the available fields:
Open the Add Contact form customization page.
Click Manage Fields.
Add the fields that users should complete during contact creation.
Remove fields that should not appear in the form.
Drag fields into the order in which they should appear.
Save the configuration.
Removing a field from the Add Contact form does not delete the field from Kyrios. It only removes the field from the manual contact creation form. Contact-level custom fields can be managed from Settings > Custom Fields.
Mark Contact Fields as Required
A required field must be completed before a user can save a contact through the Add Contact modal. To make a field required:
Open the Add Contact form customization page.
Locate the field.
Select the checkbox in the Required column.
Repeat this process for each field that must be completed.
Save the configuration.
Use required fields only for information that must be collected during initial contact creation. Requiring too many fields can slow down manual data entry. Required-field rules configured here apply to manual entries made through the Add Contact modal.
Preview and Save the Form
Preview the form before making it available to users. To preview and save the form:
Click Preview.
Confirm that the fields appear in the correct order.
Confirm that required fields are marked correctly.
Close the preview.
Click Save.
The saved configuration becomes the standard Add Contact form for the account. Users who already have the Contacts page open may need to refresh the page before the updated layout appears.
Create a Contact Using the Configured Form
To create a contact:
Go to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Click + Add Contact.
Complete all required fields.
Complete any optional fields that apply.
Choose the appropriate save action.
Available actions may include:
Save: Creates the contact and closes the form.
Save & Add Another: Creates the contact and opens a blank form for the next contact.
Cancel: Closes the form without creating the contact.
If the form is closed while it contains unsaved changes, Kyrios displays a confirmation prompt before discarding the changes.
Updated Smart Lists Actions Menu
The Manage Smart Lists and Restore options are available from the actions menu beside the Add Contact button. To access these options:
Go to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Click the three-dot actions menu beside Add Contact.
Select Manage Smart Lists or Restore.
This change groups Smart List management actions together without changing their permissions or functionality.
Prevent Duplicate Contacts
Contact deduplication settings determine how Kyrios identifies matching contact records.
To review the deduplication settings:
Go to Settings.
Open Business Profile.
Locate Contact Deduplication Preferences.
Configure the primary and secondary matching fields, such as email or phone.
CSV imports check email and phone values for existing matches and merge matching records instead of creating duplicate contacts.
When duplicate contacts are created through other sources, eligible records can be merged and a master record can be selected.
Automate Actions After a Contact Is Created
A workflow can automatically process contacts after they are created.
For example, a workflow using the Contact Created trigger can:
Assign a contact owner.
Apply a tag.
Send a welcome message.
Create a follow-up task.
Add the contact to another workflow process.
The Add Contact form controls manual data collection. Workflows control what happens after the contact is created.
Common Issues and Fixes
The Customize form option is not available
The user may not have the required administrative permissions. Review the user’s role and permissions. The user must have access to the form customization settings.
The Save button is unavailable
A required field may be empty. Review every field marked as required and enter a valid value before saving.
A custom field is not available in Manage Fields
Confirm that the field is a contact-level custom field. Create or review contact-level custom fields under Settings > Custom Fields, then return to the Add Contact form customization page.
Users still see the previous form layout
The Contacts page may have been open when the configuration was updated.
Refresh the Contacts page and reopen the Add Contact modal.
A field was removed from the form but still exists on contact records
Removing a field from the Add Contact form does not delete the field. The field remains available elsewhere in Kyrios and can still contain existing contact data.
A deleted contact is not visible in Restore
Deleted contacts remain eligible for restoration for up to 60 days. After that period, the contact may no longer be restorable.
