Updated over 3 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for Kyrios administrators and users who need to capture additional opportunity data, customize opportunity card layouts, or control which fields are visible across pipelines or per user.

What Custom Fields for Opportunities Are

Custom fields let Kyrios capture opportunity-specific data beyond standard fields, such as internal qualifiers, sales metadata, or process-specific details. These fields apply to all opportunities and can be organized, reordered, and selectively displayed on opportunity cards.

How to Access Custom Fields for Opportunities

Custom fields are managed from the Opportunities module or from Settings.

From an Opportunity

  1. Open an existing opportunity or click Add opportunity.

  2. Click Add/Manage Fields in the bottom-left corner of the opportunity modal.

From the Opportunities Board

  1. Navigate to Opportunities.

  2. Click Manage Fields in the top-right corner.

How to Create a Custom Field for Opportunities

Custom fields must be explicitly assigned to the Opportunity object to appear on opportunity records.

Steps

  1. Open Add/Manage Fields.

  2. Click + Add Field.

  3. Choose a field type (text, number, dropdown, etc.).

  4. Enter the Field Name.

  5. Set Object to Opportunity.

  6. Select a Group (default or custom).

  7. Configure optional settings if needed.

  8. Click Save.

How Custom Field Groups (Folders) Work

Groups (folders) organize custom fields visually inside opportunity forms.

How to Create a Custom Folder

  1. Open Add/Manage Fields.

  2. Click Add Folder.

  3. Enter a folder name.

  4. Set Object to Opportunity.

  5. Click Save.

How to Reorder Custom Fields for Opportunities

Custom fields can be reordered to control their display order in opportunity forms.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Settings → Custom Fields.

  2. Select Opportunity as the object.

  3. Drag and drop fields into the desired order.

How to Manage Fields Shown on Opportunity Cards

Users can control which fields appear on opportunity cards using card customization.

Steps

  1. Open the Opportunities board.

  2. Click the Customize Card option.

  3. Select the Fields tab.

  4. Check or uncheck fields to display.

  5. Note the 7-field maximum.

Opportunity Card Field Limits

Only seven fields can be displayed on an opportunity card at one time. If seven fields are already selected, one must be removed before another can be added.

Card Layout Options: Default vs Compact View

Opportunity cards support two layouts for visual density.

Layout Options

  • Default View: Displays full field labels and spacing.

  • Compact View: Displays a condensed card for higher pipeline density.

How to Manage Quick Actions on Opportunity Cards

Quick actions display activity counts directly on the card.

Available Quick Actions

  • Calls

  • Unread conversations

  • Tags

  • Notes

  • Tasks

  • Upcoming confirmed appointments

Steps

  1. Open Customize Card.

  2. Switch to the Quick Actions tab.

  3. Enable or disable actions as needed.

Applying Card Customizations to Pipelines

Card customizations can apply to one pipeline or all pipelines.

When Saving Changes

  • Select All pipelines to apply globally.

  • Leave unchecked to apply only to the current pipeline.

Hide Empty Fields in Opportunity Records

The Hide Empty Fields option reduces clutter when viewing or editing opportunities.

How It Works

When enabled, only fields with values are shown in the opportunity editor.

Where to Enable

  • Inside the Edit Opportunity modal.

User-Level vs Admin-Level Customization

Opportunity customization operates at two levels.

Admin-Level

  • Creates, edits, deletes, and orders fields

  • Controls field structure and availability

User-Level

  • Chooses which fields appear on cards

  • Selects layout and quick actions

  • Does not affect other users

What Cannot Be Customized

Standard fields are fixed and cannot be edited or deleted. Only custom fields can be modified.

Common Issues and Fixes

A custom field does not appear on opportunity cards

Ensure the field is selected in Customize Card and the 7-field limit is not exceeded.

A field appears in forms but not on cards

Opportunity cards only display fields explicitly selected in card customization.

Another user does not see my card layout

Card customizations are user-specific unless applied to all pipelines.
