What LinkedIn Poll Publishing Does

LinkedIn Poll Publishing lets you create a LinkedIn poll inside the Social Planner composer.

You can add:

  • One poll question

  • 2 to 4 answer options

  • A poll duration

LinkedIn Poll Requirements

A LinkedIn poll must follow these limits:

  • Poll question: up to 140 characters

  • Answer options: 2 to 4 options

  • Each answer option: up to 30 characters

  • Poll duration: 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or 14 days

LinkedIn polls cannot be combined with images, videos, PDFs, or other media on the LinkedIn version of the post.

How to Create a LinkedIn Poll Post

  1. Go to Marketing → Social Planner.

  2. Create a new post.

  3. Select a LinkedIn account.

  4. Open LinkedIn options.

  5. Select Add a poll.

  6. Click Edit to configure the poll.

  1. Enter your poll question.

  2. Add 2 to 4 answer options.

  3. Select the poll duration.

  4. Click Save poll.

Publishing Options

After the poll is saved, you can publish it using the normal Social Planner publishing options.

LinkedIn polls can be used with:

  • Instant publishing

  • Scheduled posts

  • Recurring posts

  • Category Queue

  • CSV bulk uploads

  • Drafts

Poll Preview

Use the post preview to review the poll before publishing.

The preview shows the poll question, answer options, and duration so you can confirm the post is correct before it goes live.

Media Rules for LinkedIn Polls

LinkedIn polls cannot include media on the LinkedIn version of the post.

Do not attach images, videos, PDFs, or other media to the LinkedIn version if you want the poll to publish.

When publishing to multiple platforms, media can still be added to non-LinkedIn versions of the post.

Common Issues and Fixes

My LinkedIn poll did not publish

Check whether media was attached to the LinkedIn version of the post. If media is attached to the LinkedIn version, the poll will not publish.

I cannot add more than 4 answer options

LinkedIn polls support 2 to 4 answer options only.

Remove extra options before saving the poll.

My poll question is not saving

Check the question length.

The poll question must be 140 characters or fewer.
