What Social Listening Shows

Social Listening aggregates trending data from multiple public sources and displays them in one view.

Supported Trend Sources

  • Google Trends – Real-time search interest.

  • Pinterest Keywords – Popular and rising search terms.

  • Wikipedia Pageviews – Globally trending topics based on page traffic.

Accessing Social Listening

  1. Open Marketing.

  2. Select Social Planner.

  3. Click the Social Listening tab.

Understanding the Social Trends Dashboard

The Social Trends dashboard is divided into three columns, each representing a different data source.

Google Trends Panel

  • Shows trending search queries.

  • Displays approximate search volume.

  • Highlights newly trending topics.

  • Hovering over an item reveals country-level interest when available.

Pinterest Keywords Panel

  • Displays trending Pinterest keywords.

  • Shows the number of Pins associated with each keyword.

  • Includes trend direction indicators (rising or declining).

Wikipedia Pageviews Panel

  • Lists Wikipedia pages with the highest recent view counts.

  • Indicates whether interest is increasing or decreasing.

  • Useful for identifying globally relevant or news-driven topics.

Filtering Trends by Date

You can filter Social Listening data by date to review trends from a specific day.

How to Filter by Date

  1. Click the date selector in the top-right of the Social Trends section.

  2. Choose a date.

  3. Select Refresh to reload trend data.

How to Use Social Listening for Content Planning

Use Social Listening data to:

  • Validate post ideas before publishing.

  • Align content with real-time audience interest.

  • Identify seasonal or event-driven trends.

  • Plan timely posts instead of evergreen-only content.

Social Listening is informational and does not auto-publish or auto-generate posts.

Common Issues and Fixes

Trends Are Not Updating

  • Click Refresh after changing the date.

  • Ensure your browser cache is cleared if data appears stale.

Missing Platforms

  • Only supported sources appear in Social Listening.

  • TikTok and YouTube trend tracking are not currently shown in this view.
