This article explains how to enable and manage email notifications for expired or expiring social media account connections in the Social Planner.

Updated over 2 months ago

How Social Media Account Tokens Work

Each social media account connected to the Social Planner uses an authorization token to stay connected.

Important facts:

  • Tokens expire automatically

  • Expiry timing varies by platform

    • Facebook: ~90 days

    • LinkedIn: ~60 days

  • Tokens may expire early if:

    • The social account password is changed

    • Permissions are revoked on the social platform

When a token expires, the account disconnects and scheduled posts cannot publish.

Social Planner Notification Types

The Social Planner can send email notifications for the following events:

  • Account Pre-Expiry
