How to Verify Your Domain with Facebook (Meta)

This article explains how to verify a domain in Facebook Business Manager using the Meta Tag method inside Kyrios.

What Facebook Domain Verification Does

Facebook domain verification:

  • Confirms ownership of a domain

  • Allows control over link previews and editing permissions

  • Is required for Meta Ads, iOS tracking, and some conversion events

  • Prevents unauthorized accounts from using your domain

Step 1: Copy the Facebook Meta Verification Tag

  1. Log in to Facebook Business Manager

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Open Brand Safety

  4. Click Domains

  5. Add or select your domain

  6. Choose Add a meta-tag to your HTML source code

  7. Copy the full meta tag provided by Facebook

Step 2: Confirm the Default Page for the Domain in Kyrios

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Open Domains

  3. Select the domain you want to verify

  4. Click Edit Domain

  5. Confirm a Default Page is selected

Facebook checks the default page only.
If no default page is set, verification will fail.

Step 3: Open the Page Builder for the Default Page

  1. Navigate to the website or funnel that contains the default page

  2. Open the page editor

  3. Click Settings

  4. Select SEO Metadata

Step 4: Add the Custom Meta Tag

  1. In SEO Metadata, scroll to Links & Tags

  2. Click + Add under Custom Meta Tags

  3. Enter the values exactly as provided by Facebook:

Step 5: Save and Publish the Page

You must save in three places:

  1. Save the custom meta tag

  2. Save SEO Metadata

  3. Click Publish in the page editor

If the page is not published, Facebook cannot detect the tag.

Step 6: Verify the Domain in Facebook Business Manager

  1. Return to Facebook Business Manager

  2. Go to Settings โ†’ Brand Safety โ†’ Domains

  3. Select your domain

  4. Click Verify Domain

Verification may take a few minutes (up to 72 hours in rare cases).

Important Domain Rules

  • Facebook only allows root domains (example: website.com)

  • Verification will fail for:

  • If your root domain is hosted elsewhere, use DNS TXT verification instead

Common Issues and Fixes

Verification fails immediately

  • Page was not published

  • The meta tag was added to the wrong page

  • The default page is not set for the domain

Facebook cannot find the meta tag

  • Meta tag is outside the <head> section

  • Page builder changes were not saved

  • The cached version of the page is loading

  • Wait up to 72 hours

  • Click Verify Domain again

  • Confirm you copied the tag exactly
