What Is the Instagram Story Post Composer?
The Instagram Story Post Composer is a built-in feature of the Social Planner that allows you to create and schedule Instagram Stories directly from Kyrios.

Preview Stories in high resolution before publishing
Save drafts or send Stories for approval
Receive clear, color-coded error and warning alerts
Supported Instagram Story Requirements
Each Instagram Story must meet the following requirements:
Account type: Instagram Professional account only
Media limit: Up to 10 images or videos per Story
Image size: Maximum 8 MB
Video length: Maximum 60 seconds per video
Formats: Instagram-supported image and video formats
Prerequisites
Before creating an Instagram Story, confirm all of the following:
An Instagram Professional account is connected to Kyrios
Personal and creator-only accounts are not supported
Images and videos are uploaded to the Media Library
Open the Social Planner
In Kyrios, go to Marketing
Select Social Planner
Click + New Post
Choose Create New Post
Select Instagram Account(s)
Under Post to, click Select a social account
Choose one or more Instagram Professional accounts
Important notes:
Only Instagram accounts can be selected
Selecting any non-Instagram platform disables the Story option
Choose Story as the Content Type
Scroll to Instagram options
Under Post this as, select Story
Add Images or Videos to the Story
You can add Story media using the composer toolbar.
Click the Upload Image icon to add images
Click the Upload Video icon to add videos
You may include both images and videos in the same Story post.

The Story Post Composer toolbar clearly shows where media is added.
Image icon = upload images
Video icon = upload videos
This toolbar is used for all Story media uploads.
Multi-Platform Composer (Optional)
The Social Planner supports composing posts that include images and videos across multiple platforms at the same time, including:
Instagram
YouTube
TikTok
This allows you to prepare content for multiple channels from a single composer.
Preview Your Instagram Story
The Post Preview panel displays your Story in high resolution
Review media order, layout, and formatting
Changes are updated in real time as you edit
Publish, Schedule, or Send for Approval
Click the arrow next to Post to choose how the Story is handled:
Post Now – Publish immediately
Schedule Post – Publish at a future date and time
Send Post for Approval – Route for internal approval
Schedule Recurring Posts – Reuse content on a schedule
Save for later – Save as a draft
Save Stories as Drafts
Click Save for later to store unfinished Stories
Drafts can be edited and published at any time
This is useful when content is incomplete or timing is undecided.
Error and Warning Management
The Story Post Composer includes enhanced validation:
Errors and warnings are color-coded
Clicking an error jumps directly to the issue
Common errors include:
Missing media
Video longer than 60 seconds
Unsupported file types

Ensure only Instagram Professional accounts are selected
Remove any non-Instagram platforms from the Post to
Media Upload Error
Confirm image size is under 8 MB
Confirm video length does not exceed 60 seconds

What should I do before creating an Instagram Story?

Can I publish Stories to multiple Instagram accounts?
Yes. You can select multiple Instagram Professional accounts in the Post to field.
What is the maximum number of media items per Story?
Up to 10 images or videos per Story.
Why can’t I select other social platforms?
Instagram Stories only support Instagram accounts. Selecting other platforms disables the Story option.
Can I schedule Instagram Stories in advance?
Yes. Use Schedule Post to publish Stories at a future date and time.
Can I edit a scheduled Story?
Yes. Open the scheduled Story in the Social Planner and make edits before it publishes.
Can I mix images and videos in one Story?
Yes. The Story Post Composer supports both images and videos in the same Story post.
What happens if my video exceeds 60 seconds?
An error alert appears. You must trim the video before publishing.
