What Document Delivery via SMS Does

Document Delivery via SMS sends a secure document link to the recipient’s mobile number.

Key behaviors:

  • SMS can be used alone or combined with email

  • Delivery settings can be applied globally or overridden per send

  • SMS content is controlled through reusable snippets

  • Workflows automatically use the configured SMS content

Delivery Methods Available

You can choose one of the following delivery methods:

  • SMS only

  • Email + SMS

These options are available:

  • As global defaults

  • During individual document sends

  • Inside workflow-based document actions

Set Global Default Delivery Settings

Global defaults define how documents are delivered by default.

Steps

  1. Go to Documents & Contracts → All Documents and Contracts → Settings → Customer Notifications

  2. Locate Document Received

  3. Select one option:

    • SMS only

    • Email + SMS

  4. Repeat the selection for Document Signed

  5. Click Save

These settings apply to all documents unless overridden during sending.

Create SMS Message Templates (Snippets)

SMS content is managed using snippets.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Marketing → Snippets

  2. Click New Snippet

  3. Select SMS as the snippet type

  4. Enter your message content

    • Example: “Your document is ready. Please review and sign.”

  5. Save the snippet

Saved snippets are reusable across documents and workflows.
