Who This Is For / When to Use

This feature is for account owners and builders who:

  • Collect phone numbers through forms or surveys.

  • Need documented consent for SMS communications.

  • Must meet U.S. A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging requirements.

Use this element whenever a form includes a Phone field or when consent must be explicitly recorded.

What the Terms and Conditions Element Does

The Terms and Conditions element provides two independent consent options:

  • Transactional consent for service-related messages.

  • Promotional consent for marketing messages.

Each option uses its own checkbox so consent is explicit, separate, and auditable.

Consent Types Explained

Transactional Messages

Used for non-marketing communication, including:

  • Appointment reminders

  • Order confirmations

  • Account or service updates

Users must explicitly check this box to consent.

Promotional Messages

Used for marketing communication, including:

  • Promotions and special offers

  • Discounts

  • Product or service updates

This consent is optional and independent from transactional consent.

How the Element Is Added to a Form

Automatic Addition with Phone Field

When a Phone field is added to a form:

  • Both Transactional and Promotional Terms and Conditions are automatically added.

  • Privacy Policy and Terms of Service text links are also added automatically.

Each consent section can be edited independently:

  • Modify wording to match your legal or business requirements.

  • Format text using the built-in editor.

  • Add hyperlinks to external pages.

Adding Links to Privacy Policy or Terms of Service

You can hyperlink any portion of the text:

  1. Highlight the text.

  2. Click the link icon.

  3. Enter the destination URL.

Required Setting and Query Key

The element includes:

  • A Query Key used for submission data storage.

  • An optional Required toggle if consent must be mandatory before submission.

These settings are managed from the right-side panel.

How Consent Appears in Submissions

Consent selections are recorded in the Terms & Conditions column in form submissions.

Possible values:

  • Transactional; Promotional – both boxes checked

  • Transactional – only transactional checked

  • Promotional – only promotional checked

  • (Empty) – no consent provided

Compliance Notes

  • Default text is designed to meet common A2P requirements.

  • Consent is tied to the submitted phone number.

  • Records are stored with each submission for audit and compliance review.
