Who This Is For / When to Use

  • Accounts that have already initiated a domain transfer into Kyrios.

  • Users whose transfer status shows Approval Pending.

  • Anyone seeing a Rejected or delayed transfer status.


What “Approve Transfer” Means

After you start a domain transfer, your current registrar requires confirmation that you authorize the move.

This approval:

  • Confirms you are the domain owner.

  • Prevents unauthorized domain transfers.

  • Is required to complete the transfer into Kyrios.

If you do not approve manually, many registrars will auto-approve after several days.


Transfer Statuses You May See

Approval Pending

The transfer request is waiting for approval at your current registrar.

You must:

  • Approve the request via email or

  • Approve it from the registrar’s dashboard


Transfer Rejected

The transfer did not complete and must be restarted.

Common causes:

  • The request was declined.

  • The domain is under a 60-day ICANN lock.

  • Approval was not completed in time.


Transfer Successful

The domain has been transferred into Kyrios and is ready to manage.

You can now:

  • Click Manage

  • Edit DNS records

  • Control renewals and billing


How to Approve Your Domain Transfer

Method 1: Approve by Email (Most Common)

Most registrars send a confirmation email to the domain’s administrative contact.

Steps:

  1. Open the inbox associated with your domain registration.

  2. Look for a transfer confirmation email.

  3. Click Approve, Confirm, or Authorize.

Check spam or junk folders if you do not see the email.


Method 2: Approve from Registrar Dashboard

If no email is received, approval can usually be completed from the registrar’s dashboard.

GoDaddy

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.

  2. Go to Transfers Out.

  3. Select the domain.

  4. Click Approve Transfer.

Namecheap

  1. Open the email titled Standardized Form of Authorization, or

  2. Log in to Namecheap and locate the pending transfer.

  3. Select I approve this transfer.

IONOS

  1. Sign in to IONOS.

  2. Go to Domains & SSL.

  3. Open the domain with a pending transfer.

  4. Select Approve Transfer.


What Happens After Approval

Once approved:

  • The transfer proceeds automatically.

  • Completion typically takes 1–5 days.

  • The domain appears under your Kyrios Domains list.

  • Full DNS and renewal management becomes available.


Common Issues and Fixes

Transfer still shows “Pending” after approval

  • Registry updates can take 24–48 hours.

  • Confirm Whois Privacy was disabled.

  • Verify the domain was unlocked before approval.

Transfer was rejected

  • Check if the domain is under a 60-day lock.

  • Confirm the transfer was not manually declined.

  • Restart the transfer once restrictions are cleared.

I never received an approval email

  • Check spam or junk folders.

  • Log in directly to your registrar and approve from the dashboard.

Will my website go down during approval?

No. As long as DNS records remain unchanged, there is typically no downtime.

How long does approval take?

Approval is instant once completed, but final transfer completion can take up to 5 days.

Can I cancel after approving?
