Why Reviewing DNS Records Is Required
DNS records are not automatically guaranteed to transfer correctly between registrars.
Before continuing, you must confirm:
All required DNS records exist.
Record values match your current DNS provider.
No records are missing or misconfigured.
Skipping this step can cause:
Website downtime
Email delivery failures
Broken integrations
Where This Step Happens
DNS review occurs during Step 3: Review DNS Records in the transfer workflow.
At this stage, Kyrios displays all detected or imported DNS records and allows edits before proceeding.
How DNS Records Are Retrieved
Kyrios supports two methods for retrieving DNS records.
Method 1: Upload a DNS Zone File (Recommended)
Uploading a zone file imports all DNS records at once from your current DNS provider.
Use this method if:
Your provider supports zone file exports.
You want the most accurate migration with minimal manual work.
Important notes:
Log in to the DNS provider, not just the registrar.
If nameservers point to Cloudflare, Cloudflare manages DNS—even if the domain was purchased elsewhere.
If zone file export is unavailable, records must be added manually.
Method 2: Auto-Scan DNS Records
Kyrios can automatically scan existing DNS records.
Important limitations:
Some records may not be detected.
Email-related records (MX, TXT) are commonly missed.
Manual verification is always required after scanning.
How to Review DNS Records
Once records are retrieved, review them carefully.
You should:
Compare records against your current DNS provider.
Confirm all expected records are present.
Check values for accuracy, including:
Host / Name
Target / Content
Priority (for MX records)
All records are displayed in a table by type.
How to Edit DNS Records During Review
During the review step, you can make changes before finalizing the transfer.
You can:
Add records using the Add Record button.
Edit records to correct values.
Delete records that are incorrect or duplicated.
Search records by name, type, or value.
Changes made here apply before the transfer proceeds.

A Records
Required for websites and funnels.
Missing or incorrect A records cause sites not to load.
CNAME Records
Used for subdomains like
www.Commonly required for landing pages and tracking.
MX Records
Required for incoming email.
Incorrect priority or values stop email delivery.

Missing TXT records can cause emails to be marked as spam.
