Use this trigger when you want to:
Send onboarding or welcome messages

What the Product Access Granted Trigger Does
The Product Access Granted trigger runs immediately when a contact is granted access to a membership or course product.
When the trigger fires:
The contact is added to the workflow
Workflow actions run instantly
Filters determine which products and contacts qualify
This trigger runs once per access event unless re-entry is enabled.
Requirements Before Using This Trigger
The following conditions must be met:
Membership or course products must already exist
The contact must be granted access to a product
The workflow must be published
If no products exist, the trigger cannot be configured.
Step 1: Create or Open a Workflow
Go to Automations & Workflows > Workflows
Locate an existing workflow or click Create Workflow
Use the workflow actions menu to edit the workflow
This opens the workflow builder.
Step 2: Add the Product Access Granted Trigger
Click Add New Trigger in the workflow canvas
Open the Courses section
Select Product Access Granted or use the search bar
Once selected, the Trigger Setup panel opens automatically.
Step 3: Configure Trigger Settings
Each setting below works independently and can be quoted on its own.
Workflow Trigger Name (Optional)
This field changes only the display name inside the workflow builder
It does not affect trigger behavior or logic
Use a descriptive name if multiple triggers exist in the same workflow.
Product Filter
The Select Product filter controls which products activate the workflow.
If no product is selected:
Any product access grant triggers the workflowIf one or more products are selected:
Only access to those products triggers the workflow
This allows you to build product-specific automations.
Custom Field Filters (Optional)
You can further restrict which contacts enter the workflow.
Filters are based on existing Custom Fields
Only contacts matching the selected values enter the workflow
Custom Fields must already exist in the account
Use this to target specific customer segments.
Save the Trigger
Click Save Trigger to apply the trigger settings
The trigger is now active in the workflow.
Step 4: Add Workflow Actions
After the trigger fires, you can add any workflow actions, including:
Sending emails or SMS messages
Tagging contacts
Updating contact fields
Assigning tasks or users
Triggering additional workflows
Actions run in sequence for every qualifying access event.
Step 5: Save, Test, and Publish the Workflow
Click Save in the top-right corner
Toggle Publish to enable the workflow
Click Test Workflow to confirm behavior
Testing ensures the workflow runs correctly before going live.
