Updated over 2 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for account owners and admins who want to automate ClickUp task and project operations using Kyrios workflows. This integration is best used for onboarding, delivery workflows, internal project management, and AI-assisted documentation.

Overview

The ClickUp integration connects ClickUp project activity with Kyrios automation workflows. Once connected, ClickUp events can trigger workflows, and Kyrios can perform actions such as creating tasks, posting comments, generating documents, and building project structures.

This is a premium integration. Each execution may incur additional usage charges.

Supported Workflow Triggers

Workflow triggers start a Kyrios workflow when an event occurs in ClickUp.

Available triggers include:

  • New Task

  • Task Changes

  • New Comment on a Task

  • New Time Entry

  • New List

  • New Folder

Triggers fire in near real time using webhooks.

Supported Workflow Actions

Workflow actions allow Kyrios to perform operations inside ClickUp.

Available actions include:

  • Create Task

  • Update Task

  • Add Comment to Task

  • Create New Document

  • Create List

  • Create Folder

  • Create Space

Actions can be chained together and combined with conditions, filters, and AI steps.

Connect Your ClickUp Account

You must connect ClickUp before using triggers or actions.

To connect ClickUp:

  1. Open the workflow builder.

  2. Add a ClickUp trigger or action.

  3. Click Connect Now.

  4. Log in and authorize your ClickUp workspace.

Alternatively, connect ClickUp from Settings → Integrations → ClickUp.

Configure a ClickUp Workflow Trigger

Triggers define which ClickUp event starts the workflow.

Steps:

  1. Add a new workflow trigger.

  2. Search for ClickUp.

  3. Select a trigger (for example, New Task).

  4. Name the trigger for identification.

  5. Apply filters such as Workspace, Space, Folder, or List.

  6. Click Test Trigger to load sample data.

Build Workflow Actions

After the trigger, add one or more actions to automate ClickUp operations.

Common patterns:

  • Create a task, then add a comment.

  • Generate AI content, then create a ClickUp document.

  • Build a space, then create lists and tasks conditionally.

Common Automation Use Cases

Automate Task Creation from Form Submissions

Goal: Convert form submissions into ClickUp tasks.
Example: When a client submits an onboarding form, a task is created in a designated list and a comment summarizing requirements is added.

Generate Proposal Documents Automatically

Goal: Create AI-generated documents inside ClickUp.
Example: When a deal reaches the proposal stage, AI generates a proposal that is saved as a ClickUp document for review.

Build Project Workspaces by Deal Type

Goal: Automatically create structured project environments.
Example: A signed SEO deal creates a ClickUp space, lists, tasks, and sends internal notifications based on conditional logic.

Common Issues and Fixes

ClickUp trigger does not fire

Cause: Workspace or list filters are too restrictive.
Fix: Loosen filters and retest the trigger with live ClickUp activity.

Cannot connect ClickUp

Cause: Authorization was not completed or expired.
Fix: Reconnect ClickUp from Settings → Integrations → ClickUp.

Action fails during execution

Cause: Required ClickUp fields were not mapped.
Fix: Ensure all mandatory fields (such as workspace or list) are selected.
