Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this when your business tracks data that does not fit standard Kyrios objects (such as Contacts or Opportunities) and you want to visualize that data using dashboards or reports.

Overview: Custom Object Widgets

Custom Object widgets allow dashboards and reports to display metrics derived from Custom Objects you define. These widgets support counts, trends, totals, averages, tables, and breakdowns based on your custom data structure.

Step 1: Create a Custom Object

  1. Navigate to Settings > Objects.

  2. Click Add Custom Object.

  3. Complete the required fields:

    • Custom Object (Singular): Example: Car

    • Custom Object (Plural): Example: Cars

    • Primary Display Field Name: Example: VIN Number

    • Field Type: Select the field type for the primary field.

  4. (Optional) Enable Mark Primary Field as Unique to prevent duplicate values.

  5. Select an Icon and enter a short Description.

  6. Click Create Custom Object.

Step 2: Open the Dashboard in Edit Mode

  1. Go to Dashboards.

  2. Open an existing dashboard or create a new one.

  3. Click Edit mode.

Step 3: Add a Custom Object Widget

  1. Click Add Widget.

  2. In the right-side panel, stay on the Widgets tab.

  3. Use the search bar or scroll to find your Custom Object.

  4. Expand the Custom Object to see available widget types.

Step 4: Select Widget Type and Chart Format

  1. Choose a widget type, such as:

    • Total count

    • Count over time

    • Sum or average of a numeric field

    • Table view

  2. Select a Chart Type:

    • Number

    • Pie

    • Line

    • Bar

    • Table

Step 5: Customize Widget Settings

  1. Apply Filters to limit which records are included.

  2. Adjust Date ranges, grouping, or fields (depending on widget type).

  3. Open the Themes tab to apply a color theme.

  4. Configure labels and display options as needed.

Step 6: Save the Dashboard

  1. Click Save Changes.

  2. The widget now updates dynamically as Custom Object records change.

Optional: Use in Reports and Scheduled Delivery

Custom Object widgets can also be added to reports. Once saved, dashboards or reports can be scheduled for automatic email delivery.
