Use this when you want members to access your Membership through a fast, app-like experience without downloading from an app store.
What the Membership App Is
The Membership App is a Progressive Web App (PWA) generated from your Membership site.
A PWA:
Runs in a browser but behaves like a native app
Can be installed on desktop and mobile
Loads faster than a standard browser session
Updates automatically without reinstallation
Part 1: Enable and Customize the Membership App
Step 1: Open App Settings
Go to Communities & Memberships.
Click Courses.
Open Settings from the dropdown.
Select App Settings.
Step 2: Enable the Membership App
Toggle Enable PWA ON.
Click Save.
Step 3: Configure App Details
Enter the App Name.
Enter a Short Name (used on some devices).
Optionally add a Description.
Step 4: Upload App Icons
Upload both required icon sizes:
512×512 (used on larger screens)
192×192 (used on smaller screens)
Use the same image for both sizes when possible.
Icon Guidelines
Supported formats: PNG or JPEG
PNG is recommended (especially for Android)
Final icon selection and scaling are handled by the device OS
Step 5: Choose App Colors
Select from the available color options.
Save your changes.
Note: Custom colors are limited intentionally to prevent layout and contrast issues.
Part 2: Installing the Membership App
Once enabled, members can install the app directly from their browser.
Install on Android (Chrome Only)
Open the Membership site in Chrome.
Open the browser menu.
Tap Add to Home Screen.
Install on iOS (Safari Only)
Open the Membership site in Safari.
Tap the Share icon.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Confirm when prompted.
Install on Windows (Chrome or Brave)
Open the Membership site in Chrome or Brave.
Click the Install icon in the address bar.
Click Install.
Install on macOS (Chrome Only)
Open the Membership site in Chrome.
Click the Install icon in the address bar.
Confirm installation.
Where the App Appears After Installation (macOS)
After installation, the Membership App appears as a standalone app and in Chrome Apps.
