Who This Is For / When to Use
Use this guide if outbound calls do not dial, fail to connect, or disconnect immediately when calling from the Kyrios Dialer Web App.
Step 1: Allow Microphone Access in Your Browser
Outbound calls require microphone access to function.
Open the browser you are using to access Kyrios.
Ensure microphone access is enabled at the operating system level.
If prompted by the browser, allow microphone access.
Step 2: Verify Microphone Permission for the Kyrios Website
Even if system access is enabled, the Kyrios site must also be allowed.
Click the lock icon in the browser address bar.
Locate Microphone permissions.
Set Microphone access to Allow for the Kyrios site.
Step 3: Disable VPNs or Blocking Browser Extensions
Some VPNs and browser extensions can block VOIP connections.
Temporarily disable any VPN services.
Disable browser extensions, especially VPN or security-related extensions.
Retry the outbound call after disabling them.
Step 4: Test Using Chrome Guest Mode
Guest mode runs Chrome without extensions or cached settings.
Open Google Chrome.
Click your profile icon.
Select Guest.
Log in to Kyrios and attempt an outbound call.
If calls work in Guest mode, the issue is caused by a browser extension or profile setting.
Step 5: Increase the Outbound Call Timeout
Calls may fail if the timeout is too short.
Go to Settings > Phone Numbers.
Select the phone number you are calling from.
Locate Outgoing Call Timeout.
Set the value to 20 seconds or higher.
Save changes.
Step 6: Test from a Mobile Browser on Cellular Data
This helps identify whether the issue is device-specific or network-related.
Open a mobile browser (not the Kyrios mobile app).
Go to app.kyriossystems.com.
Log in using cellular data (not Wi-Fi).
Attempt an outbound call.
If the call works on cellular data, the issue is likely related to the original device or Wi-Fi network.
Common Issues and Fixes
Call does not dial: Microphone permissions blocked or VPN enabled.
Call disconnects immediately: Outgoing call timeout set too low.
Call works on mobile but not desktop: Browser extensions or network firewall blocking VOIP.
FAQ
Why does Kyrios need microphone access for outbound calls?
The Dialer Web App uses VOIP technology, which requires microphone access to send audio during calls.
Do browser extensions affect outbound calls?
Yes. VPNs, privacy blockers, and some security extensions can interfere with VOIP traffic.
Why should I test using Chrome Guest mode?
Guest mode disables extensions and cached settings, helping isolate browser-related issues.
Why does testing on cellular data matter?
It helps determine whether the issue is caused by a Wi-Fi network, firewall, or ISP restriction.
