Conversations: View Info on SMS & MMS Error Messages

Kyrios now displays clear, plain-language explanations for failed SMS and MMS messages directly in Conversations, replacing confusing error codes with actionable guidance and support links.

Updated over 3 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

This update applies to all Kyrios users who send SMS or MMS messages and want immediate clarity when a message fails, without needing to look up technical error codes.

What Changed in Conversations Error Messaging

Kyrios now shows human-readable explanations for SMS and MMS delivery failures directly on the failed message, instead of only displaying numeric error codes.

Each failed message includes:

  • A clear explanation of why the message failed

  • The associated error name (when applicable)

  • A Learn More link to a detailed Help Center article

This change is live across web and mobile apps.

How Error Messages Appear in Conversations

When an SMS or MMS fails to send, the message bubble displays an inline failure indicator with a short explanation. Selecting Learn More opens the related Help Center article for that specific error.

Example: Error 21661 – “From” Number Is Not SMS-Capable

Error 21661 occurs when the sending phone number does not support SMS messaging. Kyrios now explains this directly on the failed message instead of only showing the error code.

What This Means

The phone number used to send the message is not enabled for SMS or MMS.

How to Fix It

  1. Go to Settings → Phone Numbers.

  2. Confirm the selected number supports SMS.

  3. Purchase or assign an SMS-capable number if needed.

  4. Retry sending the message.

What You Need to Do

Nothing. This update is automatically enabled for all accounts and requires no configuration changes.

Why This Update Matters

  • Eliminates guesswork when messages fail

  • Reduces time spent searching for error code definitions
