How to Enable or Disable Unsubscribe Settings in Mailgun
Mailgun’s unsubscribe setting is controlled at the domain level and applies to emails sent from that domain, including messages sent through Kyrios.
Step 1: Log in to Mailgun
Log in to your Mailgun account using your administrator credentials.
Step 2: Open the Sending Settings
From the left-hand navigation menu, click Sending to access domain-related email settings.
Step 3: Open Domain Settings
In the Sending submenu, select Domain Settings, then choose the domain you want to manage from the dropdown list.
Step 4: Edit the Unsubscribe Setting
Scroll down to the Unsubscribe section and click Edit.
Use the toggle to turn the Unsubscribe feature on or off for the selected domain.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Click Save to apply the updated unsubscribe setting to the domain.
Changes take effect immediately for emails sent from this domain.
Important Notes About Unsubscribe Behavior
This setting applies per domain, not per campaign.
Disabling unsubscribe links may impact email compliance and deliverability, depending on your region and use case.
Kyrios may still track opt-outs at the contact level based on workflow logic or prior unsubscribe actions.
Common Issues and Fixes
Unsubscribe link still appears after disabling it
Ensure the correct domain is selected in Mailgun. Changes only apply to the domain currently in use for sending.
Emails fail compliance checks after disabling unsubscribe
Re-enable the unsubscribe feature to align with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, or other regional email regulations.
Unsubscribe behavior differs between campaigns
Confirm all campaigns are sending from the same authenticated Mailgun domain.
