Migrating a WordPress Website to Kyrios

Migrating a WordPress website moves an existing WordPress site from another host into Kyrios WordPress hosting.

What WordPress Migration Does

WordPress migration transfers an existing WordPress website into Kyrios WordPress hosting. A migration may include:

  • Website pages and posts

  • Media files

  • Themes

  • Plugins

How to Avoid Downtime

Keep the original website live while the migrated site is prepared and tested. To reduce downtime risk:

  • Keep old hosting active for 24–48 hours after DNS changes.

  • Lower DNS TTL before migration when your DNS provider allows it.

  • Test the migrated site before changing DNS.

  • Verify page design, forms, plugins, media, and mobile responsiveness.

  • Confirm SSL is issued and the domain is verified before launch.

Common Issues and Fixes

White-Glove Migration Assistance Is Not Visible

White-Glove Migration Assistance is only available to agency users. Account users may only see the LC Migrator Plugin option.

SSL Is Pending, or the Site Shows a Browser Warning

Confirm the correct domain is connected, and DNS records are verified. SSL can be issued only after the required DNS records are in place.

Images or Media Are Missing

Review the WordPress media library, page content, and plugin settings. Missing media may be caused by incomplete migration, blocked file paths, or references to the old hosting environment.

Plugins Break After Migration

Check for plugin conflicts, outdated plugins, or plugins that require new settings after migration. Some plugins may need to be reactivated or reconfigured.
