Who This Is For / When to Use
This update is for users who send emails from Conversations and include YouTube links in those emails.
Use this article when a recipient asks why a YouTube video appears as a thumbnail instead of an embedded player, or when a user wants to confirm that YouTube links display correctly in sent emails.
What Changed
YouTube previews now display correctly in sent emails from Conversations.
When you paste a YouTube link into an email, Kyrios sends the preview as a clickable video thumbnail. The recipient can click the thumbnail to open the video in a new browser tab.
This applies to emails sent from the Conversations inbox. Kyrios Conversations is part of the unified inbox experience for managing customer communications.
How YouTube Links Work in Sent Emails
Paste the YouTube link into the email composer in Conversations.
Kyrios automatically converts the link into a video preview.
When the email is sent, the recipient sees a clickable thumbnail. Clicking the thumbnail opens the YouTube video in a new tab.
No additional setup is required.
Supported YouTube Link Types
Kyrios supports both standard YouTube watch links and shortened YouTube share links.
Examples of supported link formats include:
Standard YouTube watch links
Shortened YouTube share links
Users do not need to change how they add YouTube videos to emails.
Why This Update Was Needed
Previously, pasted YouTube links could appear as a blank rectangle in the recipient’s inbox. This could happen even when the preview looked correct while the email was being composed.
The issue was caused by major email providers blocking embedded video players inside received emails.
Kyrios now sends YouTube previews in a format that renders reliably across major inboxes.
What Recipients See
Recipients see a clickable YouTube video thumbnail in the email.
The thumbnail does not play the video directly inside the email.
When the recipient clicks the thumbnail, the video opens on YouTube in a new tab.
Common Issues and Fixes
The YouTube video does not play inside the email
This is expected behavior.
Most email providers block embedded video players inside emails. Kyrios displays a clickable thumbnail instead, so the recipient can open the video safely in a new tab.
The recipient sees a thumbnail instead of the full video player
This is expected behavior. The thumbnail is the reliable email-safe version of the YouTube preview.
The preview looks correct while composing but looks different after sending
The sent email may look different because the recipient’s email provider controls how email content is displayed.
Kyrios now sends YouTube previews as clickable thumbnails to improve reliability across major inboxes.
