Alt Text Support for Images in Social Planner

Add descriptive alt text to images in Social Planner so published social content is more accessible and easier for screen readers to describe.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use alt text when creating image-based social posts in Social Planner.

Alt text is helpful for:

  • Single-image posts

  • Multi-image posts

  • Carousel posts

  • Posts where each image needs its own accessibility description

What Alt Text Support Does

Alt Text Support lets you add a custom image description to each image uploaded in Social Planner.

Alt text is configured per image, not per post.

Each image can have its own unique description. This helps screen readers describe the image accurately instead of using one generic description for the entire post.

Kyrios Social Planner supports creating, scheduling, and publishing social posts across multiple platforms from one dashboard.

Supported Behavior

Social Planner sends alt text to platforms that support alt text.

If a platform does not support alt text, Social Planner safely ignores the alt text for that platform.

Alt text can be added, edited, or removed before publishing.

How to Add Alt Text to an Image

  1. Go to Marketing → Social Planner.

  2. Create a new social post.

  3. Upload one or more images.

  4. Hover over the image.

  5. Click the image options menu.

  6. Select Add alt text.

Then enter a clear image description, then click Save.

How to Edit Existing Alt Text

  1. Open the post in Social Planner.

  2. Hover over the image that already has alt text.

  3. Click the ALT indicator or alt text option.

  4. Update the image description.

  5. Click Save.

Multi-Image and Carousel Posts

Each image in a multi-image post or carousel has its own alt text field.

Add a separate description for each image so every image has accurate context.

Do not use one repeated description for all images unless the images are visually identical.

Best Practices for Writing Alt Text

Write alt text that describes what is visually important in the image.

Good alt text should:

  • Be specific

  • Be concise

  • Describe the main subject

  • Include relevant context

  • Avoid unnecessary phrases like “image of” or “picture of”

Example:

Close-up of a pale pink and white flower bud on a slender stem, sharply in focus against a blurred lake and mountain background.
