What Are WhatsApp Snippets

WhatsApp Snippets are reusable message templates you can manually insert into WhatsApp conversations.

They are not WhatsApp Marketing or Utility Templates.

Key characteristics:

  • No Meta approval required.

  • Can only be sent inside an active 24-hour WhatsApp service conversation.

  • Can include Custom Values and Trigger Links.

  • Can be edited before sending.

Creating a Snippet

Step 1: Open Snippets

Navigate to Marketing > Snippets to view all existing snippets.


Step 2: Start a New Snippet

Click New Snippet, then choose Add Text Snippet or Add Email Snippet.


Step 3: Configure the Snippet

Enter the required details:

  • Name: Internal reference name (required).

  • Snippet Body: Message content (required).

  • Custom Values / Trigger Links: Optional personalization.

  • Attachments: Optional file upload or URL-based attachment.


Step 4: Review and Save

Use the preview panel to review formatting, character count, and estimated cost.
Click Save to store the snippet.

Sending a Snippet via WhatsApp

Requirement: Open Conversation Window

Snippets can only be sent if the contact has an active WhatsApp conversation within the last 24 hours.


Step 1: Open the WhatsApp Conversation

Go to Conversations and select WhatsApp as the channel.


Step 2: Insert a Snippet

Click the Insert Snippet icon in the message composer and select a snippet from the list.


Step 3: Edit and Send

The snippet populates the message box automatically.

  • Edit the message if needed.

  • Click Send to deliver it via WhatsApp.


Common Issues and Fixes

Snippet Cannot Be Sent

Cause: The 24-hour WhatsApp service window has expired.
Fix: Wait for the contact to send a new WhatsApp message or use an approved WhatsApp template.

Snippet Does Not Appear in WhatsApp

Cause: Snippets are channel-agnostic but can only be sent where supported.
Fix: Confirm you are replying inside a WhatsApp conversation.
