Add a File Upload Custom Field
Access Custom Fields
Go to Settings in your account.
Open Custom Fields.
Create the File Upload Field
Click + Add Field.
Select File Upload.
Configure File Upload Settings
Enter the Field Name.
Select the Object (for example, Contact).
Choose allowed file types (PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, XLS/CSV, DOC/DOCX, or All).
Enable Allow Multiple Files if needed.
Click Save.
Organize File Upload Fields with Folders (Optional)
Create a Custom Field Folder
In Custom Fields, click Add Folder.
Enter a folder name (for example, “Files”).
Select the object.
Click Save.
Add File Upload Field to a Folder
Locate the File Upload field in All Fields.
Assign it to the folder you created.
Add the File Upload Field to a Form or Survey
Create or Open a Form
Go to Sites.
Select Forms.
Click + Add Form or open an existing form.
Choose Start from Scratch or a template.
Click Create.
Use Quick Add vs. Add Object Fields
Quick Add shows standard fields (name, email, phone).
Add Object Fields shows custom fields, including File Upload.
Drag and Drop the File Upload Field
Open the Add Object Fields tab.
Search for File Upload.
Drag the field onto the form canvas.
Customize the File Upload Field in the Form
Edit Field Settings
Click the File Upload field in the form.
Update:
Label
Placeholder text
Short label
Required toggle
You can also change the style of the field, such as changing the label alignment, choosing Standard or Bubble, the option names, and additional settings.
Save and Integrate the Form
Click Save.
Click Integrate.
Choose the embed or share option.
Copy the link or embed code.
Where Uploaded Files Are Stored
Files are saved on the contact record associated with the form submission.
Files can be accessed through:
Custom Fields
Form or survey submissions

Confirm the file type is allowed.
Verify file size meets platform limits.
Retry on a stable internet connection.
Field Not Visible in Form Builder
Ensure the File Upload field is created under the correct object.
Use Add Object Fields, not Quick Add.

How can I control which file types users upload?
You can select allowed file types when creating or editing the File Upload custom field in Custom Fields.
Can users upload more than one file?
Yes. Enable Allow Multiple Files in the File Upload field settings.
Where do I find uploaded files?
Uploaded files are stored on the contact record and visible through Custom Fields and form submissions.
Can I edit the file upload field after saving a form?
You can edit display settings in the form builder, but the custom field name and unique key are locked after saving.
Can I organize uploaded files?
Yes. Create folders in Settings > Custom Fields and place File Upload fields inside them.
What happens if a user uploads the wrong file?
The file will still attach to the contact record. You can request a corrected file via a follow-up form or manual upload.
