What Are Manual Payment Methods
Manual payment methods let customers complete checkout without paying online.
Key characteristics:
Orders are created with a Pending payment status
Payment is collected outside Kyrios (cash, terminal, transfer, etc.)
Payment is manually marked as paid by a user
No online transaction is processed at checkout
Supported use cases:
E-commerce stores
Order forms
Forms and surveys that sell products
Supported Manual Payment Types
Kyrios supports the following manual payment options:
Cash on Delivery (COD)
Custom Manual Payment Methods (e.g., Pay at Pickup, Bank Transfer, Invoice on Delivery)
Each manual payment method can include:
Custom display name
Optional payment instructions
Optional checkout message
How to Set Up Manual Payment Methods
Step 1: Open Payment Integrations
Step 2: Add Manual Payment Methods
Optional fields:
Step 3: Enable for Checkout
Enable the manual payment method for:
E-commerce store checkout
Order forms
Forms or surveys (product-based only)
Step 4: Save Changes
Click Save to apply the configuration.
The manual payment option will now appear during checkout if enabled.
What Customers See at Checkout
When manual payment is enabled:
Customers complete checkout without paying online
The selected manual payment method appears as a payment option
Any instructions or messages you added are displayed
Collecting and Recording Manual Payments
Step 1: Locate the Order
Step 2: Collect Payment Offline
Collect payment outside Kyrios (cash, terminal, transfer, etc.).
Step 3: Record the Payment in Kyrios
The order status updates immediately.
Forms and Surveys Payment Sync
For Forms and Surveys:
Updating payment status in Orders
Automatically syncs with the Form or Survey Submissions section
No manual reconciliation is required.
Using Only COD and Manual Payments
If you want to disable all online payments and use only manual methods:
Step 1: Disconnect Online Payment Providers
Go to Payments
Open Integrations
Disconnect all online payment providers
Step 2: Enable Manual Payment Methods Only
Only manual payment options will appear at checkout.
Limitations and Important Notes
A payment integration must already exist to enable manual payment methods
Manual payments are not supported for:
Recurring products
Subscription products
Variable or donation-style amounts
Manual payments are supported only for selling products
Once an order is marked as Paid, the action cannot be reversed
Manual payment methods appear at checkout only if enabled
Best Practices
Add clear payment instructions to avoid customer confusion
Use custom payment methods if COD does not match your workflow
Offer multiple manual payment options when appropriate
Train staff on properly marking orders as paid to prevent errors

What happens to an order when a customer selects a manual payment method?
The order is created with a Pending payment status until payment is manually collected and recorded.

No. Once checkout is completed with a manual payment method, the payment must be handled manually.
