Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) allows customers to complete one-time purchases using installment payment options directly within Kyrios order forms.

Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for businesses that:

  • Use Stripe or PayPal in Kyrios

  • Sell one-time products via order forms or stores

  • Want to increase conversions by offering installment-based payments

  • Use 1-step or 2-step order forms, including upsells

What Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) Is

Buy Now, Pay Later allows customers to:

  • Purchase immediately

  • Pay over time using an approved provider

  • Complete checkout without leaving the order form

Kyrios supports BNPL natively without requiring manual setup in external dashboards.

Supported BNPL Providers

Stripe BNPL Providers

The following providers are supported through Stripe:

  • Affirm

  • Afterpay / Clearpay

  • Klarna

These appear as selectable payment options during checkout.

PayPal Pay Later

PayPal Pay Later is supported separately and appears directly under the PayPal button at checkout.

Availability and Requirements

BNPL is available only when all conditions below are met:

  • Payment provider: Stripe or PayPal

  • Product type: One-time products only

  • Order forms: 1-step and 2-step

  • Recurring products: Not supported

How BNPL Appears on the Checkout Page

When enabled, BNPL options appear directly inside the order form payment section.

Customers can choose between credit card, BNPL, or PayPal Pay Later (if enabled).

How to Enable BNPL Payment Methods (Stripe)

Step 1: Open Stripe Integration Settings

  1. Go to Payments in the left navigation

  2. Click Integrations at the top

  3. Locate Stripe

  4. Click Manage

Step 2: Open Payment Method Controls

Click Manage Payment Methods in the Stripe integration panel.

Step 3: Enable BNPL Providers

  1. Scroll to Buy now, pay later

  2. Toggle ON:

    • Affirm

    • Afterpay / Clearpay

    • Klarna (as applicable)

  3. Save changes

Changes apply independently for Live and Test modes.

Important Configuration Rules

  • Payment methods are now managed only inside Kyrios

  • Editing BNPL methods directly in Stripe is no longer supported

  • Existing Stripe configurations remain unchanged unless modified

How PayPal Pay Later Works

When PayPal is connected, PayPal Pay Later automatically appears during checkout.

Key rules:

  • Available for one-time purchases only

  • Appears below the PayPal button

  • Supported on order forms, upsells, and online stores

Order and Transaction Tracking

All BNPL transactions are fully tracked inside Kyrios.

  • Orders appear under Payments

  • Transaction status updates in real time

  • Existing automations continue to work

Triggers such as Order Submitted and Payment Received function normally.

Subscription and Payment Status Visibility

For PayPal Pay Later and BNPL-related payments:

  • Status updates sync automatically

  • Payment history is fully visible

  • Failed or succeeded transactions are logged clearly

Common Issues and Fixes

BNPL Does Not Appear at Checkout

  • Confirm the product is one-time

  • Confirm Stripe or PayPal is connected

  • Check Live vs Test mode configuration

  • Refresh the order form preview

BNPL Options Missing for Some Customers

  • Availability depends on customer location

  • Providers may restrict access based on region or eligibility
