Updated over 2 months ago

Who This Is For / When to Use

  • You want to reduce no-shows by collecting deposits.

  • You want to allow customers to pay part of the booking cost upfront.

  • You collect the remaining balance manually after booking.

What Are Partial Payments

Partial payments allow a booker to pay a deposit during the booking process while displaying the total service cost.

This helps:

  • Confirm booking intent

  • Improve cash flow

  • Reduce missed appointments

Step 1: Integrate a Payment Gateway

A supported payment gateway must be connected before enabling partial payments.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Payments → Integrations.

  2. Connect a supported payment gateway.

Supported Gateways

  • Stripe

  • Authorize.net

Step 2: Enable Payments for the Calendar

Payments must be enabled at the calendar level.

Steps

  1. Go to Calendar Settings → Forms & Payments.

  2. Toggle Accept Payments on.

Step 3: Enter the Total Amount and Currency

The total booking cost must be defined before enabling partial payments.

Steps

  1. Enter the Total Amount for the booking.

  2. Select the Currency.

This amount represents the full cost of the service.

Step 4: Enable Partial Payments and Choose Deposit Type

After setting the total amount, enable partial payments.

Steps

  1. Check Accept Partial Payment.

  2. Choose the deposit type:

    • Flat Amount

    • Percentage

Step 5: Enter Deposit Amount and Description

Define how much the booker pays upfront.

Steps

  1. Enter the deposit amount or percentage.

  2. Add a description explaining the deposit.

  3. Click Save.

The description is shown to the booker during checkout.

How to Collect the Remaining Balance

Partial payments do not automatically collect the remaining balance.

Steps

  1. Go to Payments → Invoices.

  2. Locate the drafted invoice created during booking.

  3. Manually send the invoice to collect the remaining amount.

Note: Future updates will automate this process.
