Who This Is For / When to Use

This article is for account admins and users configuring calendars who need to understand why certain booking slots are unavailable.

Use this when you need to:

  • Diagnose unavailable time slots

  • Validate calendar availability rules

  • Test collective or round robin calendar logic

  • Troubleshoot booking issues before publishing a calendar

What Is the Calendar Troubleshooting Tool

The Calendar Troubleshooting Tool allows you to:

  • View all generated booking slots

  • See which slots are available or unavailable

  • Identify the exact reason a slot is blocked

  • Test availability logic without trial-and-error bookings

The tool first generates all possible slots based on:

  • Calendar availability

  • Meeting duration

  • Meeting intervals

It then marks each slot as available or unavailable based on calendar rules.

How to Access the Calendar Troubleshooting Tool

  1. Go to Settings → Calendars.

  2. Locate the calendar you want to troubleshoot.

  3. Click Troubleshoot Calendar from the calendar actions menu.

Viewing Slot Availability

Once opened, the troubleshooting view displays:

  • All generated time slots

  • Availability status for each slot

  • Reasons for unavailability

Hover over any unavailable slot to see the exact blocking reason.

Common Reasons a Slot Is Unavailable

When hovering over an unavailable slot, you may see one or more of the following reasons:

  • Minimum Scheduling Notice Requirement
The slot does not meet the required notice period.

  • User Availability
The assigned user is unavailable at that time.

  • Blocked by Another Event
The slot overlaps with an existing appointment.

  • Outside Set Availability
The slot falls outside defined working hours.

Testing Collective and Round Robin Calendars

The tool provides additional insights for Collective and Round Robin calendars.

For these calendar types:

  • Hovering over an unavailable slot shows how many users are unavailable

  • Availability updates dynamically as user availability changes

Example behavior:

  • If 2 out of 3 users are unavailable, the slot is unavailable

  • If availability improves, the slot status updates automatically

Making Real-Time Adjustments

You can change calendar settings while the troubleshooting view is open.

Steps:

  1. Update calendar settings (availability, buffers, duration, etc.).

  2. Return to the troubleshooting view.

  3. Click Refresh to immediately reflect the changes.
