What Is a Processing Charge
A processing charge is an additional fee added to a customer’s total to cover costs such as:
Credit card processing fees
Convenience or service fees
How it’s calculated:
(Subtotal − Discounts + Taxes)
The charge is calculated as a percentage of the final payable amount.
It appears as a separate line item during checkout and on receipts.
Where Processing Charges Apply
Processing charges can be enabled for the following payment sources:
Invoices
Estimates
Funnels
Forms
Surveys
Payment Links
Important limitation
PayPal and custom payment providers are not supported for processing charges on Funnels, Forms, and Surveys.
Access Processing Charge Settings
Go to Payments → Settings.
Select Miscellaneous Charges.
Click Processing Charges.
Enable and Configure a Processing Charge
Step 1: Enable Processing Charges
Turn on Enable passing processing charges to customers.
Step 2: Define the Charge
Enter:
Processing charge name (for example, Convenience Fee)
% Charge (percentage of total amount, inclusive of tax)
The charge name is customer-facing and appears at checkout.
Step 3: Select Where the Charge Applies
Choose one or more:
Invoices & Estimates
Payment Links
Funnels
Forms
Surveys
Step 4: Save Settings
Click Save to activate processing charges for new eligible checkouts.
How Processing Charges Appear to Customers
Invoices and Estimates
The processing charge is shown after clicking Pay.
Funnels, Forms, and Payment Links
The processing charge is included in the checkout summary before payment.
Displayed as a separate line item in the order breakdown.
Subscriptions and Recurring Payments
Processing charges apply to supported subscription checkouts.
Charges are calculated per transaction.
Important Behavior and Rules
Draft Invoices
Processing charges appear only if the invoice is edited after enabling the feature.
Existing Orders and Invoices
Payments created before enabling processing charges are not affected.
Disabling Processing Charges
Disabling does not remove charges from existing editable invoices or completed orders.
Mobile App Payments
Processing charges do not apply to invoices paid through the mobile app.
Viewing Processing Charges in Reports
To track collected processing charges:
Export Transactions CSV or Orders CSV.
Review the following columns:
Processing Charge Name
Processing Charge Amount
This data can be used to calculate total fees collected over a date range.
Compliance Notice
You are responsible for complying with local and regional laws regarding surcharges.
Processing charges may be restricted or prohibited in certain jurisdictions.
Common Issues and Fixes
Processing charge not appearing on an invoice
Ensure the invoice was edited after enabling the feature.
Charge not applied on Funnels or Forms
Confirm the payment provider is supported.
PayPal and custom providers are not supported for Funnels, Forms, and Surveys.
Charge missing in reports
Use CSV exports; processing charges do not have a standalone dashboard yet.

Use the Transactions CSV or Orders CSV and sum the Processing Charge Amount column.
Do processing charges apply to mobile app payments?
No. Mobile app invoice payments are not supported yet.
Are PayPal payments supported?
PayPal is not supported for processing charges on Funnels, Forms, and Surveys.
