How to Set Up 2nd Tier Commissions in Affiliate Manager

Set up second-tier commissions so parent affiliates earn commissions from sales generated by affiliates they referred.

Use second-tier commissions if you want to:

  • Reward affiliates for recruiting other affiliates

  • Pay parent affiliates for sales generated by their network

  • Build a multi-level affiliate incentive structure

  • Increase affiliate-driven growth through referrals

What Is a 2nd Tier Commission?

A 2nd Tier Commission allows a parent affiliate to earn a commission when an affiliate they referred makes a sale.

  • First-tier commission: Paid to the affiliate who made the sale

  • Second-tier commission: Paid to the parent affiliate who referred that affiliate

Both commissions are calculated independently.

Where Second-Tier Commissions Are Configured

Second-tier commissions are configured at the campaign level.

They apply only to:

  • Affiliates added to that campaign

  • Sales tracked under that campaign

How to Enable 2nd Tier Commission in a Campaign

Step 1: Open Affiliate Campaigns

Navigate to:

Marketing → Affiliate Manager → Campaigns

Create a new campaign or edit an existing one.

Step 2: Set the First-Tier Commission

In Campaign Details:

  1. Select the Commission Type

    • Percentage

    • Flat amount

  2. Enter the commission value

This commission is paid to the affiliate who makes the sale.

Step 3: Configure the 2nd Tier Commission

Scroll to 2nd Commission Type.

  1. Select the commission type

    • Percentage

    • Flat amount

  2. Enter the second-tier commission value

This commission is paid to the parent affiliate.

Step 4: Save the Campaign

Complete the remaining required campaign settings and click Create Campaign or Save.

Second-tier commissions are now active for this campaign.

How Parent Affiliates Are Determined

  • A parent affiliate is the affiliate who referred another affiliate

  • The relationship is automatically tracked by Kyrios

  • No manual linking is required

Parent-child affiliate relationships can be viewed inside the affiliate profile.

How Second-Tier Sales Appear

When a sale occurs:

  • The selling affiliate receives first-tier commission

  • The parent affiliate receives second-tier commission

  • Both commissions are logged separately

In payouts, second-tier commissions are clearly labeled.

Where to View 2nd Tier Commissions

Second-tier commissions appear in:

  • Affiliate profile → Affiliates tab

  • Payouts section with “2nd Tier” labeling

  • Campaign-level commission reporting

They follow the same payout approval flow as standard commissions.

Common Issues and Fixes

Second-Tier Commission Not Applied

  • Ensure the campaign has a 2nd Commission Type configured

  • Confirm the selling affiliate has a parent affiliate

  • Verify the sale belongs to the correct campaign

Parent Affiliate Not Receiving Commission

  • Parent affiliate must be active

  • Sale must be approved

  • Commission must not be denied or reversed
