How to Add and Manage Authors in Blogs

You can add, edit, and delete blog authors from the Blogs settings to properly credit contributors on your published blog posts.

Who This Is For / When to Use

Use this feature if:

  • You want to credit individual writers or contributors on blog posts.

  • You manage multiple authors for a single blog site.

  • You need to update author bios, images, or social links.

How to Access Blog Author Settings

  1. In the left navigation menu, go to Sites.

  2. Click Blogs.

  3. On the Blogs page, locate the gear (Settings) icon in the top-right corner.

  4. Click the gear icon to open Blog Settings.

Open the Authors Tab

  1. Inside Blog Settings, click the Authors tab.

  2. This section displays a list of all existing authors.

Add a New Author

  1. Click + Add New Author.

  2. Complete the author details in the popup:

    • Author Name (required)

    • Author Photo (recommended size: 512px × 512px, max 10MB)

    • Image Alt Text

    • Author Description

    • Canonical Link (optional)

    • Social profile links (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube)

  3. Click Create Author to save.

Edit or Delete an Existing Author

  1. In the Authors list, locate the author you want to manage.

  2. Click the pencil icon to edit author details.

  3. Click the trash icon to delete the author.

  4. Confirm your action when prompted.

What Happens After Adding an Author

  • Newly added authors become available for selection in blog posts.

  • Updates to author details are reflected wherever the author is used.

  • Deleting an author removes them from selection but does not delete published posts.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Author not appearing in blog editor: Refresh the page after creating the author.

  • Image upload failing: Ensure the image is under 10MB and uses the recommended dimensions.

  • Social links not displaying: Verify the full URL is entered for each platform.

How do I add a new author to my blog?
